• The candidate is responsible for the day-to-day operational aspects of database administration to meet the business needs and service level.
• Provide 1st and 2nd level operational database support.
• Assist and respond promptly to incident, investigate & provide temporary &/or permanent resolution of incidents escalated.
• Manage database changes through change request process & provide status reports to the relevant parties.
• Monitor & measure the performance & availability of databases proactively; implement corrective actions identified to improve.
• Perform regular security patching for the DBs.
• Handle service continuity measures, i.e., backup/restore procedures & disaster recovery plan, to ensure continuous operation of the business.
• Manage DB access. Create, Change, delete users accounts as per request.
• Audit Support.
• Prompt 24x7 support.

Make an Impact by:

• Monitor the agreed service level, document & maintain the configuration of the databases; provide regular reporting to relevant parties.
• Ensure service level meet requirement.  Propose and implement action plan when required.
• Monitor and maintain databases according to standard operations procedures.
• Offer support by responding to system problems in a timely manner.
• Perform performance tuning and resource optimization as required.  
• Maintaining a knowledge base to ensure database intellectual property is retained.
• Work on any other DB related requests as and when needed.
• Provide operational database support.

Skills for Success:

• Minimum Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• EDB or Oracle or MS SQL Professional Certification
• Minimum 3  year of experience  in  Oracle
• Minimum 3 years of experience in  PostgreSQL
• Minimum 3  year of experience  in  MS SQL
• Extensive experience in managing common Database platform like Oracle, PostgreSQL, MS SQL & MongoDB.
• Experience in performing database Patching, backup & recovery as well as excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning skill is a must.
• Implement Database hardening as per CIS Benchmarks.
• EDB Cluster management using EFM. 
• Implement and manage Audit, Backup & Monitoring  of DBs.
