About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Associate Director – Network Probe & Observability to lead a highly specialised technical function responsible for delivering deep, real‑time visibility across our mobile and fixed networks.
In this senior leadership role, you’ll own the strategy, design and operational excellence of network observability platforms across Core, RAN, Fixed and Transport networks. You’ll transform complex network data into actionable insights that directly drive service assurance, network optimisation and improved customer experience at scale.
Reporting to the Director, Enhanced Services & Solutions, this role plays a critical part in enabling proactive operations, faster root‑cause analysis and data‑driven decision‑making across the business.
What you’ll do
- Lead, mentor and develop a high‑performing team of network observability, performance, integration and platform specialists
- Define and execute the end‑to‑end observability strategy across Core, RAN and Transport network domains
- Own the lifecycle of network probe platforms including sizing, deployment, configuration, integration and optimisation
- Drive effective vendor management across key probe and analytics platforms
- Establish clear operational processes, KPIs and governance to ensure platform availability, accuracy and scalability
- Enable advanced data correlation across control plane, user plane and application data to deliver UE traces, CDRs and customer experience insights
- Lead the development of real‑time dashboards, KPIs, KQIs and CEM reporting for Engineering, Operations and senior stakeholders
- Implement automated anomaly detection and proactive alerting to identify service‑impacting events early
- Act as a key interface with Network Operations, Engineering, Planning and Customer Facing and Care teams
- Support complex, multi‑domain root cause analysis using deep‑dive trace and probing capabilities
- Ensure compliance with cyber security standards, regulatory obligations and data retention requirements
- Manage financial accountabilities, ensuring Opex and Capex targets are achieved
What you’ll bring
- Proven leadership experience in network operations, engineering or observability within a large‑scale telecommunications environment
- Deep understanding of 3GPP protocols, mobile and fixed network architectures, and end‑to‑end service monitoring
- Strong hands‑on experience with network probe and analytics platforms
- Demonstrated ability to translate complex network data into actionable insights for technical and non‑technical stakeholders
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with experience influencing across multiple engineering and operational teams
- Financial acumen with experience managing budgets, vendors and commercial outcomes
- A continuous‑improvement mindset with the ability to drive both cultural and technical transformation
