Singtel is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel / Assistant General counsel to provides legal advice and support to Singtel Group’s transactional M&A activities and existing investments in Regional Associates as well as new markets. To ensure Singtel Group’s interests are protected and furthered in various transactions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and support in relation to a variety of M&A activities such as acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures, and other strategic corporate transactions. This includes managing transaction process amongst various stakeholders.


  • Provide advice / managing certain post-closing M&A activities such as post-closing claims and disputes including mediation / arbitration in connection with such claims.


  • Providing advice in relation to financing transactions, including debt capital markets (bond/note issuances) and treasury-related matters


  • Supervise, manage and train junior legal counsels. Work on digitalisation initiatives and other legal department projects.



  • A Law Degree from recognized university
  • An Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore with at least 10-12 years’ post-qualifying experience in a leading law firm or in the legal department of a large multinational corporation
  • Capital markets (equity & debt) / public M&A experience is crucial.
  • Experience with cross border transaction in Experience in tech, telco, multi-media industry, banking/ financial sector is an advantage
  • Sound knowledge of the law in relation to general corporate advisory work including company and contract law.
  • Excellent business acumen and critical/analytical aptitude, with ability to act as advisor to Top/ Senior Management.
  • Team player able to work independently with strong project and people management skills
  • Willingness and ability to quickly acquire knowledge.
