The successful incumbent will be providing legal advisory for  NCS Group of companies in Singapore, HK, Australia and other countries in Asia Pacific where its subsidiaries are located:.

 

What we seek to accomplish together:

 

  • Reviewing and negotiating contracts, tenders, supply agreements (for hardware, software and professional services), research and product development agreements, collaboration agreements and related documents in compliance with corporate policies, advising and proposing solutions to mixed legal and business issues and risks to the business proposal teams.
  • Negotiating with counterparties.
  • Preparing applications for exceptions approval in accordance with corporate policies.
  • Conducting legal training for the legal team, business and project teams, including the preparation of training materials.
  • Rendering legal advice on regulatory and compliance matters in support of corporate functions.  
  • Supporting periodic audit exercise on the company and the legal department. 
  • Responsibility for Company Secretariat duties of the NCS Group of companies, including operational supervision of a company secretariat paralegal. 
  • Other duties – motivation and guidance of junior team members, reviewing policies and processes of the legal function, collating and analysing data, preparing reports and policy papers for the general improvement of the legal function and processes.
  • Assuming leadership of projects as assigned from time to time.
  • Provide legal business transaction service to the company
  • Leading due diligence support to some M&A projects  
  • Oversight of legal services in Australia, supervision of Australian counsel
  • Being a mentor and supervisor to the junior counsels

Ideally, you should possess:

  • Strong academic attainment in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in law from a Singapore or UK and have been called to the Bar in Singapore.  
  • 15 – 18 years PQE with several years in private practice in a good law firm. Experience could be in corporate work, litigation or both, together with in-house experience (drafting, negotiation, solutioning through issues). Experience and strong interest in an IT environment will be an advantage; candidates without this experience but who are very keen to work in an IT environment may also apply. 
  • A track record of steady career progression and demonstrating leadership qualities. 
  • Willing to undertake occasional travel.
