About us

Singtel Innov8 is the venture capital arm of the Singtel Group which invests in and partners with innovative technology start-ups globally.

As the Senior Associate, Investment, you will be driving Innov8’s investment activities in the Asia Pacific region across strategically relevant tech sectors. Scope of investment activities include but not limited to scouting, due diligence, deal execution and portfolio management. The candidate will also support Innov8’s overall efforts in helping Singtel keep track of tech trends, adopt new innovative technologies and seek new growth opportunities.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Investment Directors on venture capital investing activities, including research, scouting and sourcing deals, performing company due diligence and deal execution.
• Support Investment Directors in portfolio management activities, including monitoring portfolio performance, supporting companies in fund raising activities and championing the companies for commercial and business development opportunities across the Singtel Group
• Assist in scouting and tracking promising new inventions and technologies from around the world and formulating Innov8’s perspectives on the latest technology and trends
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc reports and presentations
• Assist to co-ordinate Innov8 activities (events, workshops, pitching sessions) and / or external parties such as government agencies, industry players, IHLs (e.g. MDA, IDA, NUS etc)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from a reputable tertiary institution, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, majors are most relevant
• At least 2 years relevant working experience, preferably in VC / PE / PEVC financial advisory.
• Prior exposure to Southeast Asia start-up scene, corporate innovation activities is advantageous
• Possess strong business acumen and appreciation of financial models, able to build financial models
• Excellent written & oral communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Able to multi-task and work with tight project timelines
• Independent yet being a team player
• Ability to travel when required
