Associate Director, Enterprise Architect

We are seeking an Enterprise Architect who will be responsible for Singtel’s next generation Application, Data, Technology architecture and blueprints, to support our Digitalisation Strategy.

The candidate goal is to transform and standardize enterprise architecture roadmap in Singtel with the recommendation of technology stacks and support the use of End-to-End business functions to help our business achieve positive outcomes and objectives.

The candidate must have experience in driving architecture governance, transformation, and strategy within the Telco industry or equivalents.

The candidate must be able to work in a large, complex and dynamic environment, have strong architecture skills and ability to drive delivery of small to complex business digitalization initiatives.

The candidate will be working with a range of different Application product vendors and thus requires having strong influential and vendor management skills to drive positive outcomes.

The candidate must have extensive senior leadership experience in evaluating and managing technical, business and commercial issues and risks and the associated complexities.

Make An Impact By

• Contribute to Singtel enterprise architecture strategies and roadmaps development (application, data, technology, innovation)
• Maintain architectural roadmap for business applications on Business Support System (BSS) and Operation Support Systems (OSS) space in alignment with the business and enterprise architecture strategies and standards
• Drive architecture governance processes to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives (Architecture Review Board/Solution Review Board).
• Build architecture principles, framework, process and tools to maintain high availability, quality and maintainability for mission critical and business critical applications
• Drive a target and consistent Application architecture across the organization, ensure adoption and implementation of defined platforms and solutions
• Lead the identification of technologies & tools for Business Application technology solutions as well as explain the competitive advantages of various technology alternatives
• Develop Reference Architecture, target operating model and application modernisation roadmaps that serve as the reference for engineering and execution
• Present, and explain the value and vision of Reference Architectures and solutions to both business and IT stakeholders
• Engage with Application Owners and Senior Management to understand their business needs and provide suggestions or guidance on what application architecture are appropriate to solve their problems with pros/cons articulated clearly
• Identify business value through the use of Application automation and AI
• Lead governance forums (API, AI, Data) on the usage of technology stacks for Business Applications
• Be a key stakeholder and advisor in all new strategic Application initiatives and ensure alignment to the enterprise-wide Business strategy; drive a target and consistent data architecture across the organization; develop and document architecture specifications that serve as the reference for engineering and execution
• Drive proof of concept initiatives. When needed, quickly design and implement a prototype of a system or component with a proper architecture.

Skills for Success:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years as Enterprise Architect and 10 years as Solution Architect with deep Telco industry knowledge
• Solution Architecture design and development of large scale Application platforms and solutions
• Experience in communicating and influencing at senior management and executive level
• Strong experience in managing multiple business stakeholders and vendors
• Strong understanding of architectural principles and industry standards
• Knowledge of telecommunication systems, technical and engineering concepts as well as business operations and processes.
• Ability to keep abreast of the new technologies with a view of implementing them to increase productivity and efficiency of the organization.
• Proven track record of conceptual / strategic thinking ability
• Certified Cloud Solution Architect (preferred)
• Familiar with TOGAF and TMForum methodologies
• Display leadership in action – self-directed and motivated; able to influence team to achieve project milestones
• Strong analytical skills , meticulous, energetic, innovative , able to work well in a team and under pressure
• Good interpersonal skills, resourceful, take ownership, able to conceptualize, ability to motivate and build high performing team
• Ability to generate creative solutions for work situations, encourage and embrace new and untested approaches
• Display a disciplined but flexible approach to problem solving
• Work well under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Outstanding verbal, written, presentation, facilitation, and interaction skills, including ability to effectively communicate architectural issues and concepts to multiple organization levels and executive management
