Associate Director, Finance

The Associate Director will report directly to the Senior Director, DI Co to align finance and business strategies; and support business growth through partaking in capital market financing initiatives, and mergers and acquisition activities including negotiation, pricing, due diligence and valuation amongst others.

 

This role will also work closely with the other finance community and GSI to provide finance related support for regional deals e.g. assets investment and debt financing, when appropriate, as well as the in-country finance team for ventures outside Singapore, including Thailand, Indonesia, etc.

 

Investment/Project Development

  • Assist in overall project management of Data Centres (DC) across Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and other markets.
  • Monitor JV performance within Nxera, including evaluating applicable business cases.
  • Coordinate valuation work within Nxera for deal-related considerations.
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including market scoping, financial modeling, and business case preparation.

 

Regional Financial Operations

  • Collaborate with local partners/management to:
  • Engage JV management on requirements from Nxera.
  • Evaluate and implement a local ERP system aligned with the Regional ERP plan.
  • Establish a local procurement policy and define the scope of joint procurement exercises.
  • Set up local bank accounts, payroll, and an approval matrix for procurement, bank transactions, and contract deviations.
  • Support project financing sourcing when necessary.
  • Develop a financial operations template for use in JVs across other markets.
  • Establish budgeting and reporting cadence.
  • Support capital drawdowns and address Board/shareholder matters.

 

Statutory Accounting

  • Ensure the completeness of regional Holdco financials.
  • Review Holdco financial statements.
  • Oversee tax computations and annual tax filings.
  • Manage and coordinate with external auditors.

 

Business Partnering

  • Support DI Co businesses on all financial matters.
  • Collaborate closely with the business to set priorities by understanding the company thoroughly.
  • Review and monitor business finances, including business cases.
  • Provide financial insights, tools, and analysis to management, enabling informed decision-making and driving business strategy.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Degree in Accountancy or ACCA.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting, finance, and financial modeling.
  • Analytical skills with attention to detail and business acumen.
  • Proficiency in evaluating business models, key value creation levers, and quantitative metrics.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and people management skills.
  • Leadership qualities with self-motivation and initiative.
  • Team player with exposure to commercial finance.
