Associate Director, Internal Communications

The Associate Director role reports to the Vice President, Strategic Brands and Corporate Communication and  is responsible for establishing and executing the internal communications strategy based on organisational priorities and employee needs with the goal of increasing employee engagement. 

 

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Provide all staff with regular, meaningful information about developments and activities across the organisation, communicating a sense of purpose and belonging as well as manage change effectively with the goal of increasing employee engagement.
  • Manage information flow to/from employees and helping to shape the organisational conversation
  • Establishing innovative new programmes that have scale to increase engagement across the Group
  • Create new channels to reach employees with core messages; develop and drive a messaging framework that engages and inspires
  • Determine ongoing needs and develop strategies and plans to address those needs through a variety of methods and touch points
  • Oversee Internal Communications team members and their work output
  • Serve as an internal consultant to leaders and teams at varying levels within the organisation. 

 

 

The Ideal Candidate

 

  • A degree from a recognised university, preferably specialising in Corporate Communications
  • Possess 8-10 years of experience in an internal communication role, including managing a variety of corporate communications channels, such as corporate intranet and internal social media channels.
  • Excellent writing and speaking skills, with the ability to think and communicate clearly, create a concise and well-written narrative to suit diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with digital and video.
  • Experience managing and engaging directly with top management.
  • Independent, adaptable, proactive, detail-oriented and resourceful.
  • Strong creative, project management and organisational skills.
  • Strong team player, who can interact with colleagues at all levels and is willing to get work done, even when it’s outside the scope of the job at times.
