- Based in Singtel GBS Kuala Lumpur, the Associate Director, People & Culture, Malaysia will partner closely with the GBS KL Site Lead as a strategic business partner and people leader responsible for shaping and driving the Human Capital Strategy and People Agenda to enable business growth, organisational effectiveness and long-term workforce sustainability.
- As a key advisor to the Site Lead and senior business leadership, the role will translate business strategy into forward-looking people, workforce and organisational priorities, ensuring Singtel GBS KL has the leadership, capabilities, talent and culture required to deliver its strategic ambitions. The role will also partner closely with HR leadership and Centres of Excellence to influence and align enterprise HR strategies while ensuring they address the evolving needs and priorities of the Malaysian operations.
- Leading the People & Culture team at the site level, the Associate Director will provide strategic leadership across workforce strategy and planning, organisation and capability development, leadership and talent, succession planning, employee experience, rewards, engagement and organisational transformation.
- A key mandate of the role is to anticipate future workforce and capability requirements, identify emerging organisational and talent risks, and develop scalable and future-ready people strategies that support the continued growth and transformation of Singtel GBS KL. The role will champion a high-performance culture, strengthen leadership capability and accountability, enhance employee engagement and retention, and build greater organisational agility.
- The Associate Director will also play a critical role in challenging existing practices and shaping new ways of working, leveraging workforce insights, market trends and people analytics to influence strategic decisions and continuously strengthen organisational effectiveness and the employee value proposition.
- The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, trusted advisor and transformation leader with the ability to influence senior stakeholders, navigate a complex and matrixed organisation, and translate business priorities into impactful people and organisational strategies, while ensuring strong governance and effective execution through the broader People & Culture team.
Skills for Success:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management or a related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 7 years in HR Business Partnering, strategic HR advisory or equivalent leadership roles.
- Proven experience partnering with senior business leaders to shape workforce strategy, talent priorities and organisational effectiveness.
- Demonstrated success in translating business priorities into impactful people strategies and HR initiatives.
- Strong experience across workforce planning, talent management, succession, employee relations, performance management, organisational development and leadership coaching.
- Experience leading and developing HR/P&C teams and working effectively across HR Centres of Excellence.
- Experience operating within a complex, matrixed and fast-changing organisation; exposure to Global Business Services, technology, telecommunications or professional services environments would be advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment legislation, employee relations practices and HR governance requirements.
- Understanding of contemporary HR practices, workforce trends and evolving talent market dynamics in Malaysia.
- Knowledge of organisation design, workforce transformation, employee engagement, culture and change management.
- Ability to operate effectively within a regional/global matrix and partner across business units, countries and HR Centres of Excellence.
