Associate Director, Workplace

The Director will be responsible for driving the strategy, planning, design and implementation for Singtel’s corporate workplace in Singapore and overseas offices.

 

Responsibilties

 

  • Provide strategic direction for Singtel’s overall corporate workplace strategy, planning, design and implementation
  • Lead planning for best utilization of space and resources for Singtel buildings or re-organizing current premises. Carry out feasibility studies to evaluate suitability of premises; 
  • Direct the design process to create productive and dynamic workspaces reflecting the requirements of stakeholders, while ensuring a degree of consistency; 
  • Responsible for drawing up, communicating and implementing workplace guidelines and design standard to ensure a consistent feel and parity across offices. This includes drawing up guides for capital spending, space provisions and amenity levels; 
  • Recommend and work with relevant internal stakeholders to integrate and implement the latest workplace technologies such as IOT, facial recognition etc;
  • Drive efforts to create an environmentally sustainable and healthy workplace; 
  • Responsible to ensure that the corporate workspace is productive and well-utilized through periodic reviews and regular tracking, monitoring and updating of usage; 
  • Direct consultants and contractors to design and implement workplace capital projects;   
  • Direct programme managers, architects, project managers and contractors to ensure that projects are completed within the target schedule and approved budget.
  • Develop, document and implement processes that will ensure the consistent implementation of all capital and workplace projects.
  • Engage and coordinate with IT, Facilities and key business leaders as required for all projects and site work.
     

 

The Ideal Candidate

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Building/ Construction Management or related fields. 
  • At least 10+ years of relevant working experience with strong knowledge and understanding in corporate real estate involving workspace planning, office design/ buildout, procurement and project management functions.
  • Experience working in a large corporation, involving customers, vendors and employees 
  • Proven track record at expense and capital budgeting and meeting annual targets
  • Proficient in Windows Operations Systems (Word, Excel, Power Point, Microsoft Project, etc.) and AutoCAD. 
  • Familiarity with workplace software like Serraview and/or Archibus will be a strong advantage
  • Strong knowledge and understanding in corporate real estate involving workspace planning, office design/ buildout, procurement and project management functions
  • Experience with proven track record at expense and capital budgeting and meeting annual targets
  • Experience in contract management
  • Able to effectively prioritize, meet deadlines and multi-task
  • Highly motivated, excels under pressure and remain calm at all times
  • Reliable, focused and with an attention to details
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, stakeholders’ management skills to work with both internal and external parties
  • Be prepared to take on other roles and responsibilities which may be assigned from time to time
  • Strong verbal communication, written and presentation skills.
