Associate Engineer, Mobile Voice

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Manager, the successful candidate shall be part of technical skilled in the Voice team providing configuration, implementation, testing, operations and maintenance of the Mobile Core infrastructure supporting Singtel Mobile’s mobile networks and value-added systems. Duties include the following:

  • Operate and maintain Mobile PNFs (Physical Network Functions) and VNFs (Virtualized Network Functions) of the mobile subscriber database, 3G Voice and VoLTE systems at optimal level.   
  • Analyze and monitor statistics of Voice and other circuit switched related services to detect network/system anomalies and ensure high quality of service.
  • Troubleshoot and identify root cause for system faults and service degradation.
  • Timely resolution of system faults and alarms to minimize possible service degradation.
  • Provide 2nd/3rd tier technical support to 24-hour network operations center and Customer Care for system-related, service-related faults and customer complaints.
  • Perform disaster recovery expeditiously during service disruptions to minimize service downtime and revenue loss.  
  • Test and roll-out new mobile-related products and services.
  • Perform testing and service verification of software upgrades and updates for mobile systems.
  • Ensure timely patching of software vulnerabilities
  • Liaise and coordinate with network vendors for regular system upgrades, installation and maintenance.

 

The Ideal Candidate should have:

  • Good engineering or IT diploma, preferably in the area of communications engineering and networking.
  • Fresh graduate with good attitude and strong interest in Mobile technologies is eligible as appropriate training will be provided for candidates to fill in the work.
  • Team player with strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Strong interest in Mobile technologies such as UMTS, LTE and 5G.
  • Passion to embrace new technologies i.e. Virtualization, Cloud computing and keen interest in developing ways to improve customer experience.
  • Able to work during non-office hours on an occasional basis and be on 24 x 7 hours’ standby alert for ad-hoc faults or service degradation. 
  • Familiar with networking technologies i.e. TCP/IP, switch and router will be an added advantage.
  • Working experience in mobile technology providers such as Ericsson/Huawei/Nokia will be an added advantage.
