Make an Impact by:

1.  Safety Compliance:
•    Ensure contractors adhere to safety procedures in accordance with the Work Health and Safety Act (WHSA).
•    Enforce the use of appropriate safety equipment to complete assigned jobs efficiently and safely.


2.  Contractor Management:
•    Compile and update progress reports for weekly diversion meetings.
•    Verify and clear contractor-submitted claims.
•    Issue fiber material vouchers to contractors.
•    Send requests to the Change Notification team for fiber diversion works.


3.  Project Management:
•    Supervise technicians and contractors in the execution of access fiber cable works.
•    Manage all fiber cable diversion works, including those related to road diversion and major government agencies.
•    Ensure compliance with established operation procedures and engineering instructions.
•    Meet target handover dates for all fiber cable projects.


4.  Documentation and Reporting:
•    Compile statistical reports on fiber network performance.
•    Use the Change Management system to create CTTS tickets.
•    Use the MARS system to apply for fiber cable schemes.
•    Liaise with building management for fiber cable diversion works.


5.  Technical Expertise:
•    Take ownership and manage staff on fiber splicing, termination, patching, and testing for all cable diversion works.
•    Utilize fiber equipment for troubleshooting fiber cable issues.


6.  Communication and Liaison:
•    Liaise with internal parties on fiber implementation issues.
•    Manage communication with the Change Notification team and other relevant stakeholders.

 

Skills for Success:

•    Diploma in Engineering.
•    Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance.
•    Proficient in project management and documentation.
•    Experience in managing contractors and project timelines.
•    Technical expertise in fiber splicing, termination, and testing.
•    Minimum of 2 years of experience in fiber optics installation and maintenance.
