  • Perform infrastructure planning of pipeline connection and fibre deployments for data centres and hyperscale customers and to proactively top up the fibre when required etc.
  • Dark fibre projects are highly customized and be responsible for its implementation and ensuring that dark fibre services are delivered to customer meeting Customer Ready Date (CRD).
  • Manage and resolve site issues related to pipe and fibre.
  • Liaising with the relevant departments in Singtel on the planning and implementation of fibre projects to meet the customers’ requirement.
  • To perform fiber planning and network design tasks in support of provisioning activities for corporate data services and engineering circuits over transmission and fiber network.
  • Fiber planning tasks involve reviewing and planning of new network cables required to provision corporate data or engineering services and the generation of associated documentations.
  • To supervise contractors to execute all pipeline works covering laying of new and top up pipes in the area under his control in accordance with all established operation procedures and engineering instructions.
  • Ensure that target dates for the completion of all the pipeline works are met so that cables can be laid and services can be provided expeditiously to customers.
  • Attend site meeting with other public bodies, service agencies and developers in connection with the provision of underground plants.
  • Close all pipeline schemes accurately and promptly. Ensure that all reports are sent for updating promptly upon completion.
  • To liaise with internal and external parties to resolve pipeline implementation issues.
  • To supervise technicians and contractors to execute all access fibre cable works in the area under his control in accordance with all established operation procedures and engineering instructions.
  • Attend site meeting with other public bodies, service agencies and developers in connection with provision of underground plants.
  • Close all fibre cable schemes accurately and promptly. Ensure that all reports are sent for updating promptly upon completion.
  • To assist Manager to perform evaluation task for the introduction of new fibre cables and other associated accessories.
  • To perform order management using system for fibre based products.
  • To liaise with building management and manage contractors for the fiber implementation for fibre based products.
  • To take ownership and manage contractors on fibre splicing, fibre termination, fibre patching and fiber testing for the provisioning and of fibre-based products.
  • To liaise with internal parties on fiber implementation issues
  • Provide regular updates and reports to the supervisor on the work progress and issues related to the planning and operation works.
  • To ensure the technicians and contractors follow safety procedure in accordance to the work health and safety act (WHSA) and to use appropriate safety equipment so as to complete the assigned job efficiently and safely.
  • Any other duties that maybe assign by the manager in charge

 

Skills for Success:

  • Diploma in Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications or in relevant field
  • Preferably with 1 year working experience and holding Class 3 driving license
  • Able to communicate well with all levels of people.
  • Able to managed multiple projects at same period of time
  • Good in Microsoft software (i.e. words, power point, excel, etc)
  • Able to work during non-office hours to support network incidents and restoration.
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently under pressure
