Join our team as the Director of Ground Operations and Facilities to lead and manage our T1 and T2 Satellite Operations Centres in Sydney, Canberra and Perth. What You’ll Do

 

  • Manage a team of 50 people providing T1 and T2 prevention and maintenance Operations.
  • Lead all aspects of 24x7 customer support and incident response for services including Broadcast, VSAT, Mobile Black Spot Sites, LEO Broadband, and other networks.
  • Act as the primary customer contact for fault coordination, outage response, and service restoration.
  • Direct the strategic trajectory and continuous improvement undertakings for Satellite Operations Centres and government operations.
  • Ensure compliance with WHS standards, ISO certifications, and SOCI regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and optimise satellite facilities, earth stations, and associated terrestrial transmission infrastructure.
  • Lead operational support for new product developments and capital projects.
  • Supervise important metrics, SLAs, and business continuity plans to lessen service impact and boost customer happiness.

 

 

What You Bring

 

  • 10+ years’ experience in the satellite communications industry.
  • Proven leadership in complex technical environments.
  • Deep expertise in satellite technologies including IP, RF, digital broadcast, broadband, and terrestrial transmission.
  • Strong competence in commercial operations and negotiation abilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaborator coordination skills.
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as required.
  • Tertiary education (Certificate or Diploma level).
  • NV1 clearance (or eligibility to acquire).
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio and Project.
