The purpose of this role is to maintain, develop, and win new business for Optus in the QLD Enterprise Account team.

The Account Manager, reporting to the Enterprise Sales Manager - QLD, will be responsible to sell into a territory of 10-15 Enterprise organisations with revenue under management of approximately $6M - $10m pa.

The Account Manager will work with a large virtual broader team, to develop high level customer relationships and deliver complex product and service solutions and must have the skills and experience to deal with Senior Executives in Enterprise organisations in QLD. They will require strong planning skills, the ability to create and implement strategy, and problem solving for solution development.

 

What You’ll Do

 

  • Drive new mobile, voice, data and ICT business across a defined Enterprise territory, achieving or exceeding revenue, order, margin and customer experience targets.
  • Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline (3–5x target) through consistent sales activity, opportunity qualification and effective conversion of opportunities into signed business.
  • Collaborate closely with internal sales resources, domain specialists and support teams to design, position and close complex, end‑to‑end Enterprise solutions.
  • Develop and lead senior‑level client relationships, expanding breadth and depth of engagement to increase share of wallet and overall customer satisfaction.
  • Create and execute Territory, Account and Opportunity Plans, demonstrating deep understanding of customer needs, industry dynamics and growth opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting, CRM hygiene and reporting, ensuring timely updates, effective communication with stakeholders and proactive escalation where required.

 

What You Bring

  • Shown experience in a corporate or enterprise B2B environment, with a successful background in sales, account management or broader commercial roles.
  • A consultative sales mindset, with the ability to uncover customer needs and sell complex, technical and end‑to‑end business solutions.
  • Strong commercial acumen and confidence engaging with senior executives, including CIO, CFO and CEO‑level stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated capability in developing and executing account, territory and opportunity plans, underpinned by disciplined forecasting and business case development.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills, supported by high levels of self‑management, planning and organisation.
  • Well‑developed computer and CRM capability, including Microsoft Office and customer relationship management systems; telecommunications or IT experience is advantageous but not essential.
