The primary focus areas of the Business Sales Executive will be:


As the Business Sales Executive you will be responsible for the overall Optus Business Mass Market sales target allocated to your State.

Reporting to the State Sales Manager - Retail and Mass Market, the primary purpose of the Business Sales Executive role is to own and handle Business sales performance and growth within the Mass Market channel. You will play a key role in delivering the national and state mass market channel strategy.

Partnering with our channel partner stores, you will be the subject matter expert the main authority across all product lines, including, but not limited to mobility, fixed voice & data solutions (core Business products) in the designated state. Success will be measured through the achievement of business targets such as new gross adds in mobile, mobile broadband and fixed voice & data.

  • Develop strong relationships with internal and external customers to help achieve long term targets.
  • Monitor and increase the business performance of your external sales channels
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of information / reports to and from all Optus departments related to the ongoing success of the SMB initiative.
  • Proactively seek opportunities to share market and commercial knowledge and sales skills with sales team.
  • Active participation in relevant Sales, Marketing Product, Go To Market, Service and Care forums to represent and advocate for the Optus Business mass market channel state/region.
  • Ensure you maintain your compliance status in-line with the Optus compliance program.


Your Experience:


  • 5 years’ experience in a retail or channel-based environment (preferred)
  • Experience dealing with external vendors and being able to influence
  • Sound commercial and eye for business with proven track record to managing and working to a budget
  • Commercially astute with sound understanding of business drivers
  • Proven sales track record in achieving growth through acquisition strategies and sales
  • Strong presentation and communication skills - written & verbal to internal and external senior executives
  • Solid understanding of mobile, fixed line and data solutions within the SMB market – desirable
  • Extensive new business / strategic sales experience within the Telecommunications and/or IT sectors highly regarded but all industry experience is welcome.
  • Knowledge skills & Management of internal relationships (desirable)
  • Strong product and industry knowledge would be an advantage
  • Salesforce and MS office programs / Full Salesforce training provided
