Business Operations Lead, CSU

Summary
This is a multi-faceted role that requires the individual to not only possess big picture thinking, business sense but also have financial literacy, people skills and senior stakeholder management.
The successful candidate will partner the Client Service Business Unit/Global Business Unit to drive its business strategy. This includes taking actions designed to create Operational effectiveness and efficiency, driving growth in sales, revenues and profitability.

This role requires the individual to be a business operator, value creator and people developer that also collaborates with other parts of NCS to achieve the CSU plans. The individual needs to work closely with the CSU as a business advisor to help avoid blind spots.

The individual is also expected to be involved in driving change programs and ensuring unity and consistency.

 

Responsibilities
1. Working closely to CSU lead to drive sales, revenues and profitability by identifying inefficiencies and white spaces, mining the orderbook
2. Ensuring that sales are booked quickly, minimising Wins not registered to achieve accurate orderbook.
3. Key business advisor to CSU, working closely with Finance, Sales Effectiveness lead and LOB units that provides business sensitivity analysis on revenue and profitability landing on a portfolio basis. Identifies risks before they are reported including coming up with critical actions to mitigate adverse outcomes.
4. Drive and deep dive business review meetings by CSU/Business Unit and partner the CSU/Business Unit to understand current position, outlook and key asks.
5. Financial advisor to CSU and sales teams on key opportunities/projects to assess revenue and profitability impact of the near, medium and long term. Monitors client profitability and works closely with CSL, ESL and LOB to drive profitability improvement plans. This includes ensuring that follow up action is taken by persons responsible or committed to the task.
6. Tracks utilisation of resources ensuring the resources are charging time to the right codes and advises CSU on headcount affordability.
7. Monitors project exceptions and drives to minimise these – e.g. to prevent revenue leakage.
8. Works closely with HRBP and Finance to ensure all CSU specific repositories are properly maintained and protected – people, client information, CSU specific KX
9. Ensuring that CSU members are adequately trained/certified with the right skills to participate in sales and/or delivery. This also includes organising and at times conducting training sessions, knowledge sharing to improve people and team capability.
10. Integral part of the broader NCS transformation team to drive/promote transformation programs

The ideal candidate should have/be:
Business degree is preferred but not necessary.  
10+ years experience in Finance or Operations  
Experience in client finance portfolio management
Strong appreciation of the business, its environment and markets.
Problem solver. Ability to quickly formulate a course of action to achieve results and avoid risks.
Resourcefulness and initiative. Thinking on one’s feet to achieve goals expediently and continuous improvement. 
Able to deal with ambiguity
Drives to achieve results
Maturity of thinking, pragmatism and ability to deal with issues and people head-on. This includes conflict management and resolution.
Being a team player and sometimes being a team lead with commitment to the agreed goals. 
Working independently with minimal supervision but knowing when to ask for help/escalation.
