About the role:


The Change Manager is responsible for the delivery of end to end change management functions across Optus’ Managed Network Services (MNS) account. This delivery includes the scheduling, coordination and management of changes for multiple applications and infrastructure across various complex environments.

Reporting directly to the Customer Delivery Manager, the position leads the implementation of Change Management process across the account aligned to ITIL framework, to ensure the process requirements and applicable controls for the Enhanced Capability Team (ECT) are robust.


Please note: This role requires you to work closely with the Federal Govt. Client and hence would require the candidate to be an Australian Citizen with an eligibility to achieve Baseline Security Clearance



  • Receiving, logging and managing all RFC’s according to the Change Management process.
  • Effective record management, Risk Assessment, Categorisation, Prioritisation, Planning, Testing, and Evaluation of all changes.
  • Driving Continuous Service Improvement of the Change Management process model aligned to ITIL framework.
  • Ensuring thorough and efficient processes are built and implemented for Change Record management in non-client facing service management tools
  • Chairing internal CAB meetings on a weekly basis and documenting minutes to achieve business objectives
  • Attending Client CAB (Change Advisory Board) and DCAB meetings
  • Managing Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs).
  • Delivering management reports.


Experience required:

  • Australian Citizenship and a degree in IT or Engineering
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Change Management role in Federal Government environment
  • Extensive experience in or working with Change/Release/Incident Management roles
  • Demonstrated understanding of Change Management principles
  • Business maturity, rapport, credibility and dependability dealing with customer management
  • Flexible and extremely pro-active
  • Proven ability to exercise strong and effective leadership and judgement in high-pressure situations
  • High levels of personal commitment and willingness to accept responsibility for one's own actions
  • Experience in negotiating with key stakeholders to achieve a win-win situation
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion
