About the role:

 

Optus Enterprise provides a high level of technical support and post-sales delivery services to Federal Government Clients – this involves design, implementation, support, and resolution to complex problems relating to data centre, routing & switching, telephone, wireless and security.

 

The Lead Network Engineer will demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience in comprehensive design, solution build/ implementation, scoping and technical in, but not limited to, Data Centre Networking (Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI)) domain to support various Client Delivery Teams as well as assisting and complementing the mid to junior level engineers in a mentoring as well as technical capacity.

 

This senior role leads and takes ownership of customer engagements, ensuring they are fit for purpose and satisfy current and future operational requirements of both client and Optus Enterprise for ongoing management.  The provision of advice and recommendations is based on both expertise and experience in leading significant projects, to address client needs. Internally the role will be responsible for providing expert technical subject matter leadership to wider Technical Operations, Sales, Professional Services and Client Delivery teams, and leveraging from broader Optus Business teams where necessary. 

 

Reporting to the Engineering Team Lead or the Federal Government Operations Manager, this role will work as part of a broader engineering team, and in conjunction with operational and architecture teams to deliver exceptional outcomes to our customers. 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Undertaking system analysis, technical design, implementation and maintenance of solutions applied to customer infrastructure incorporating technologies such as network, IP Telephony, security, systems, optimisation and wireless solutions as applicable to the role.
  • Lead/Work with implementation teams and the customer, providing systems/network design and implementation support to ensure smooth and effective migration to new technology/versions;
  • Apply professional expertise to complex problem resolution, where precedents may not exist.
  • Work closely with project managers and share responsibility in managing customer expectations at the outset of projects.
  • Work closely the on-site Optus Service Delivery Management to ensure that network performing optimally.

 

 

About You

 

  • AGSVA Security Clearance
  • Broad professional work experience in Networking.
  • Experience in Data Centre Networking.
  • Experience in technical customer implementation as a lead engineer
  • Extensive experience with ACI and Cisco network security technologies.
  • Solid grasp of various SD-WAN
