As a Security Officer you will provide resource and security services for Federal Government accounts. This position ensures adherence to federal regulations and internal policies, protecting sensitive data and preserving operational security.

What You’ll Do | Your day to day will consist of

Conduct personnel security clearance functions, ensuring all Optus people and contractors have the necessary clearances.

Coordinate client mandatory training compliance, ensuring all required training is completed on time.

Validate and approve access to client-managed facilities, managing building passes and Data Centre access.

Generate and maintain regular reports on clearance status and training compliance, bringing up issues to management and clients as needed.

Ensure adherence to federal regulations and internal security policies, performing regular audits and addressing security incidents.

Collaborate with other departments to integrate security protocols seamlessly, providing mentorship on guidelines.
What You Bring | What makes you perfect for the role?

A sound understanding of federal security regulations and clearance processes.

Proven organisational and record-keeping abilities, with proficiency in security management software and tools.

Proficiency in MS Office programs including Excel.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage collaborators and prepare client reports.

1–3+ years of experience in an administrative role, preferably within government departments.

Working knowledge of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and Information Security Manual (ISM).
