Summary:

  • The Director, Communications, Group Digital Office is a skilled corporate communications and digital communications leader and a vital member of the Group Digital Office reporting to the Group Chief Digital Officer (GCDO).
  • The successful candidate leads strategic external and internal communications/public relations focusing on enhancing the digital visibility of Singtel Group in the media/public to build and maintain the digital narrative and positioning of the group. This includes the development of strategic communications responses both proactively and reactively. He/She is also responsible for employee/internal communications focusing on corporate announcements and programmes led by the GCDO, as well as, change communications to drive employee awareness and engagement in corporate developments and digital initiatives, as well as, to connect senior management to the Group Digital Office as related to communications. In this regard, the successful candidate assumes the role of business communication partner to internal stakeholders across the Group to ensure on-point communications with regards to the Group’s digital strategy to bridge understanding and engagement
  • Given that digital content in today’s fast-changing communications environment, the successful candidate is adept at ideating creative content across diverse and appropriate amplification media that cuts through to different target audiences via an integrated communications strategy and approach across both digital and traditional media. He/She must also be a confident and effective press and digital media liaison for Singtel

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage media relations for GCDO, including the development of media engagement strategies/campaigns, as well as relationship cultivation and management of relevant press contacts and key digital influencers
  • Effectively and in a timely manner attend to coordinate and manage GCDO's media responses, including forum engagement and digital positioning
  • Actively lead and drive all media activities/events, including launches, press interviews/engagements, development of press materials and a rich story bank to effectively secure positive press coverage and interview opportunities, working alongside internal stakeholders, PR agency and the media with regards to Singtel’s digital positioning
  • Manage media/speaker training/briefing for GCDO spokespersons/c-suite, including drafting of speeches/speaking points as related to the Group’s digital narrative
  • Oversee content generation and development of communications materials including websites, microsites, marketing content, transformation program branding, social media incl. LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, editorial and blog content, key messages, FAQs and communication materials that support front-liner, channel and policyholder communications, and translation of materials, where required
  • Develop, manage and execute creative and relevant employee/internal communications/engagement content/campaign to amplify communication objectives in the digital areas and influence management to bridge awareness, understanding and to connect senior management and digital leads with the GCDO story
  • Track and assess deliverables, including effective utilisation of annual budgets to support digital communications plans across the Group
  • Develop one digital brand mission, vision, value proposition, communication, visual representation for the GCDO and Singtel’s digital narrative
  • Integrate digital communications strategy to develop a coherent digital narrative to amplify the group’s messages across all channels
  • Strategize communication messages to differentiate Singtel positioning vs. other telcos across South East Asia, globally and vis-à-vis other digital leaders
  • Own the relationships with key digital influencers and bloggers in Singapore, APAC and globally
  • Manage & secure venues for  major fairs, events, workshops deployed for all digital activities
  • Develop skills and expertise across the Group to ensure leadership continuity

 

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Brand / Communications / Public Relations / Marketing / Marketing Communication or equivalent; postgraduate degree considered a plus
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in corporate and media relations focused on digital narratives, managing and executing communications campaigns for both an internal and external audience in a corporate environment or with a PR agency, where experience in with a telco/MNC/technology company, or managing communications for a telco/MNC/tech client is a plus
  • Possesses good media contacts and sound knowledge of the media and influencer landscape as related to digital and is experienced in building and maintaining relationships with key journalists/editors/influencers
  • Sharp Business acumen with excellent interpersonal, facilitation and communication skills
  • Excellent written and oral communications abilities, particularly around complex issues, and has the experience and gravitas to offer strategic counsel to internal stakeholders, including c-suite
  • Possesses strong track record in creating and implementing compelling communications campaign that is suited for diverse audiences to tell the Singtel digital story effectively both publicly and internally
  • Strong marketing skills in areas of advertising, promotion, consumer research
  • Good knowledge of telecommunications services
  • Experienced in managing multiple agencies
  • A self-starter who comes up with new approaches and is adept at responding quickly, thoughtfully and effectively to changing priorities in a demanding and fast-paced environment with diverse stakeholders of various management levels, and who work well under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Strategic thinker with excellent project management, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to independently manage multiple projects with cross-functional teams to drive synergy in the business and roll-out of projects
  • Meticulous and creative with a keen eye for detail and a strong sense of urgency and responsibility to consistently deliver high-quality work
  • A mature manager / leader with affinity to tech business
