Consumer Digital - Associate Director, Digital Experience and Design

The position holder manages and leads a team of experience designers, collaborates with stakeholders in the creation and evolution of one of our key customer journeys (eSales, eCare, etc) and will have people/talent management responsibilities and business impact accountability. 


This role will need to champion the evolution of design thinking in the wider organisation by leading the facilitation of Design Thinking workshops and training. On a day to day basis, run design critique sessions with designers to mentor and guide experience designers in their delivery of experiences to customers, resulting in subject matter knowledge transfer, and quality control/governance in design output. When needed, stretch their abilities to support critical design projects.


This role will work with respective Product Owners, Dev Leads, and other cross functional roles, in an AGILE organisation, and will be accountable for the delivery of the key business outcomes from an experience and design perspective.



  • Collaborating with different stakeholders who often have different set of concerns.
  • Maintaining the integrity and quality of the customer’s experience despite demanding timeline and pressure from stakeholder of varying seniority and authority.
  • Be able to maintain team’s agility and delivery despite an environment of frequent changes and pivots.
  • Will have medium guidance in setting business targets and working towards company goals.
  • Champion the voice of customers by means of quantification (data) and qualification (verbatim) with any stakeholders.
  • Defend the consistency of experiences across our digital properties by proper application of Singtel’s Design Language System and principles.
  • Manage subjective feedback on design with data-driven validations (qualitative and quantitative).
  • Finding and keeping highly skilled and quality staff in the current job market.


The ideal candidate should have/be:

  • Diploma/degree in design, digital media design, HCI/HCD design, or relevant professional work experience
  • Over 10 years of relevant digital experience design experience (agency/in house) with at least 1 year as a people manager/design mentor. Must have launched at least 1 digital product for a consumer brand in Asia.
  • Professional skill in Digital interface design
  • Professional skill  in User experience design
  • Professional skill in Concept ideation and prototyping
  • Technical skill in usability testing & A/B or multi-variant testing
  • Team leader, effective people manager, effective communicator, high expectations of quality, accountability, keen interest in the wider design community
