This position will be responsible to lead in the planning and project management of the Mobile Network Core network functions. This includes the technology selection, capacity planning, new feature implementations, and rollout changes for new and existing services.

 

Responsibilities

The Planning and Project Manager will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Work with stakeholders in Product Development, Marketing and Engineering in the requirements, clarification and rationalization on change requests for new and existing mobile services.
  • Perform technical and financial feasibility studies.
  • Plan the network architecture and capacity needs including the evolution towards future Mobile Network Core capabilities.
  • Lead in preparation of tender specifications, evaluation of tender from both a technical and commercial standpoint, and project manage the implementation process.
  • Engage in commercial and technical negotiation with existing and potential vendors
  • Engage regional counterparts to identify and realize cost and operational synergies
  • Manage vendor(s) during the project implementation

 

The ideal candidate should have/be:

  • Degree in Engineering majoring in Computer Science, IP networking or Telecommunication
  • Good knowledge of computer networking and telecommunications technologies, including 3G, 4G and 5G.
  • Knowledge in value-added services, network function virtualization and IP is an advantage.
  • While relevant working experience in the telecommunication or IT industry is preferred, fresh graduates will also be considered.
  • Able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written English.
  • Basic understanding of procurement, legal contracts and financial management including capital and operational expenditures.
  • Good interpersonal skills, and be able to be both a leader and a team player across different groups and levels.
