  • To carry out patch loading, implementation of software and hardware upgrades on mobile core element management systems like Operations Support System (OSS, IPOSS), Analytics platforms, Centralized Backup System and Access Control System (TACACS, 2FA). 
  • Troubleshoot and perform root causes failure analysis for software & hardware faults related to the element management systems.  
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with system vendor(s) for the delivery, testing and timely implementation of new software, hardware and patches. 
  • Create and maintain engineering test documentation, operations and system administration processes. 
  • Perform and coordinate disaster recovery activity expeditiously in times of service disruptions so as to minimize operational downtime and productivity loss.  
  • Provide engineering support / expertise to Planning and Product Marketing in technical feasibility studies and trials of new products and roll out new operations support features.
  • Ensure that service quality, security and performance of the element management systems are maintained at high availability, with minimum disruption to operations support.
  • Review existing best practices and processes for system acceptance testing and introduce preventive or optimized measures to improve system operations and team productivity. 
  • Ensuring the software level of the mobile system nodes are updated timely within upon the availability of patches from vendor. Liaise and coordinate with the network vendor for regular system upgrades, installation and maintenance.
  • As upgrades and patch loading may disrupt mobile services the successful candidate is will need to work outside normal working hours to carry out such activities.



The Ideal Candidate should have/be:

  • A good engineering or computer diploma preferably in the area of computer network and wireless communications engineering. 
  • Must be a team player coupled with strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills and be able to work independently. 
  • Possess good analytical and systematic troubleshooting skills in the area of technical fault isolation and rectification. 
  • Must be self-driven and highly motivated with keen interest in mobile technologies. 
  • Working experience in implementation, operations, maintenance and administration of UNIX or LINUX based IT platforms (such as HP, SUN) Candidates with knowledge on Shell programming, Perl programming or SQL is an added advantage.
  • Familiar with IP Technologies i.e. TCP/IP, switch and router will be an added advantage.
