The candidate will be accountable for all technical and development aspects of Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, and HR systems within the Singtel Group. This includes oversight of ABAP development, SAP Basis administration, SAP Portal, authorisation frameworks, and system integration.
The ideal candidate will bring both strategic vision and deep hands-on expertise to formalise, standardise, govern, and continuously evolve the design principles and technical standards across Corporate Systems applications. The objective is to deliver best-practice, efficient, reliable, and cost-effective solutions that meet evolving business needs.

 

Domain Ownership

 

  • Lead the end-to-end technical lifecycle (“cradle to grave”) of all systems and interfaces, ensuring full visibility, traceability, and accountability.
  • Define and enforce development standards and policies for SAP Basis, authorisation models, portal, and integration protocols.
  • Evaluate and recommend integration approaches for Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications interfacing with SAP, ensuring optimal fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of a broad range of technologies relevant to enterprise systems and integration landscapes.
  • Collaborate closely with Corporate Systems functional teams to ensure technical solutions are aligned with business objectives and deliver maximum value.
  • Act as the technical authority and escalation point for complex solution design and integration challenges.

 

Project Delivery

 

  • Own the design and delivery of technical and integration solutions across Corporate Systems.
  • Review and approve all technical and integration requirements for projects and change requests.
  • Ensure timely, defect-free technical delivery in alignment with project timelines and quality standards.

 

Team Management

 

  • Lead and manage a global team of high-performing professionals, including both in-house and outsourced resources.
  • Directly manage technical SMEs across Singtel and Optus (currently 2x Singtel SMEs and 1x Optus SME).
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

 

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure development, authorisation, and integration changes are delivered within agreed SLAs.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across technology and processes through proactive review and optimisation.Identify and implement major enhancements that deliver significant value to IT operations or business stakeholders.

Domain Ownership – Strategic Planning & Governance

The candidate will be responsible for establishing and overseeing a balanced IT project and change portfolio that aligns with both business objectives and long-term strategic plans. This role requires close collaboration with Finance, Supply Chain, and Procurement stakeholders, as well as IT leadership, to co-develop and maintain a three-year roadmap for the Singtel Group’s Corporate Systems.

The candidate will ensure that all systems, solutions, services, and processes within their domain are aligned, integrated, and governed effectively to support business transformation and operational excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate on the development and continuous refinement of a 3-year strategic roadmap for Corporate Systems, ensuring alignment with business goals and IT strategy.
  • Support the roadmap review and evolution in partnership with business stakeholders.
  • Approve projects and change initiatives within the domain (technical and integration aspects), ensuring they are prioritised based on business value, urgency, and strategic fit.
  • Maintain architectural and operational alignment across systems, ensuring consistency, scalability, and future-readiness.

 

 

Client Engagement & Strategic Partnership

The candidate will be responsible for strengthening IT’s role as a trusted advisor and strategic partner to business stakeholders. This includes establishing regular engagement routines to build trust, enhance collaboration, and elevate IT’s visibility and influence across the organisation.

The candidate will proactively consult with business leaders to shape and mature ideas, provide expert recommendations, and co-create innovative solutions that address evolving business needs.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain regular stakeholder engagement sessions to foster transparency, trust, and alignment.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to business units, helping to translate business challenges into actionable IT initiatives.
  • Facilitate consultative and brainstorming workshops that surface new opportunities and drive innovation.
  • Champion a partnership mindset between IT and business, ensuring mutual accountability and shared success.

 

 

Project Ownership – Delivery & Value Realisation

The candidate will be responsible for / support the successful delivery of IT projects that generate clear, measurable business value. This includes ensuring that all initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, under budget, and with minimal post-implementation issues.

The role demands strong project governance, proactive risk management, and a relentless focus on quality and stakeholder satisfaction.

 

 

Team Management – Global Collaboration & Engagement

The candidate will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing global team that operates seamlessly across geographies, time zones, and systems. This includes fostering a collaborative culture, ensuring consistent delivery standards, and maintaining high levels of employee engagement and retention.

The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all systems and services under their domain operate reliably and efficiently, in accordance with agreed service levels. This includes proactively identifying and implementing improvement initiatives that enhance IT performance and deliver tangible value to the business.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all systems and services consistently meet or exceed defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Monitor operational performance and proactively address issues to minimise service disruptions.
  • Identify opportunities for process optimisation, automation, and cost-efficiency across development, integration, and support functions.
  • Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives that enhance IT service delivery and business outcomes.

 

 

Skills for Success

 

  • Bachelor or higher degree in Computer Science or IT
  • Ability to validate and challenge user requirements to ensure that appropriate due diligence is placed on requirements as opposed to delivering unreasonable or unnecessary functionality.
  • Demonstrated capability ensuring that end-to-end solution designs meet the needs of the client, provide for a quality technical solution, and comply with architectural directions and enterprise standards.
  • Minimum 8 years working experience in SAP modules in a technical and integration capacity.Proven experience of working in an application implementation role within a project team environment
