The Cyber Telco Solution Architect is a strategic role that integrates Telco Networking with Cybersecurity, supporting the CS-International team in delivering end-to-end telco security solutions. This role is responsible for fronting and submitting RFPs, ensuring vendor compliance alignment, conducting Proof of Concepts (POCs), and collaborating across Singtel’s Day 1 (pre-sales) and Day 2 (post-sales) teams to ensure all scopes and regulatory requirements are met.
In addition to risk management and cost optimization, the architect must incorporate sustainability considerations into solution designs and integrate with digital platforms to enhance automation, scalability, and operational efficiency. The role also fosters professional learning and knowledge sharing, ensuring a strong pipeline of expertise within the organization
Make an Impact by:
- End-to-End Telco Security Solutioning & Architecture
- Design and integrate such as SDWAN, SSE, Global Internet, MegaPoP, DDoS mitigation, Zero Trust, and Managed Security Services (MSS) into holistic cybersecurity and telco solutions.
- Ensure solutions align with regulatory compliance (e.g., MAS TRM, CSA CCM, NIST) and vendor security frameworks.
- Develop cost-effective, scalable, and resilient security architectures tailored to customer needs.
- RFP Ownership & Compliance Alignment
- Front and submit RFPs for end-to-end telco security, ensuring compliance with regional regulations and vendor requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to scope, price, and validate solutions that meet both technical and commercial objectives.
- Influence customers early in the RFP process to position Singtel’s cybersecurity and telco solutions favorably.
- Proof of Concept (POC) Leadership & Validation
- Lead POCs for SDWAN-SSE, DDoS mitigation, Zero Trust, Managed SOC, and next-gen security services.
- Validate technical feasibility, vendor interoperability, and compliance standards before production deployment.
- Sustainability-Driven Solutioning
- Design security solutions that incorporate energy-efficient technologies, optimize hardware and cloud resource utilization, and minimize carbon footprint.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and sustainability regulations such as ISO 14001 and Green ICT standards.
- Promote the use of cloud-native, software-defined, and AI-driven solutions to enhance sustainability and efficiency in telco security.
- Integration with Digital Platforms
- Ensure seamless integration of telco security solutions with digital platforms, including Singtel’s Managed Security Portal, AI-driven analytics, and orchestration platforms.
- Leverage automation, AI, and machine learning to improve threat detection, response time, and operational efficiency.
- Work with digital transformation teams to enhance user experience, visibility, and self-service capabilities for customers.
- Cross-Domain Collaboration & Risk Management
- Work across Day 1 (pre-sales, solutioning) and Day 2 (post-sales, operations, and service assurance) teams to ensure smooth implementation and risk mitigation.
- Engage with customers, account managers, sales specialists, post-sales teams, product engineering, and management to drive alignment and execution.
- Ensure solutions meet managed risk, cost-effectiveness, and operational efficiency standards.
- Stakeholder Interlock & Strategic Influence
- Act as a bridge between customers, account teams, presales, and wider solution teams, ensuring alignment of cybersecurity and telco strategies.
- Influence customers during pre-RFP discussions to position Singtel’s Managed Security Services and ensure competitive advantage.
- Work closely with product and engineering teams to refine and develop new security offerings based on market demand.
- Professional Learning & Knowledge Sharing
- Stay updated with emerging technologies, industry standards, and evolving cybersecurity threats to enhance solution offerings.
- Share knowledge and mentor junior team members, fostering skill development and capability building.
- Conduct training sessions, internal workshops, and documentation updates to enhance the expertise of the presales team.
- Presales Marketing Support, Cadence & Performance Tracking
- Maintain and track presales activities, including RFP responses, customer engagements, POCs, and deal progress.
- Ensure consistent documentation and reporting of solution strategies, customer requirements, and competitive insights.
- Collaborate with leadership to refine presales strategies and improve efficiency in solutioning processes.
- Support and promote Singtel Telco cyber services such as event or public speaking
Skills for Success:
- Education: Diploma or higher in Telecommunications, Cybersecurity, Network Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 5+ years in Telco Security, Network Engineering, or Solution Architecture.
- Hands-on expertise in SDWAN, SSE (Zscaler, Palo Alto, or Fortinet), DDoS mitigation (Akamai, Netscout), Zero Trust, Managed SOC, and MSS.
- Strong background in RFP management, vendor compliance alignment, and regulatory security frameworks.
- Experience in working across cross-domain teams, including pre-sales, post-sales, product, and engineering.
- Knowledge of sustainability-driven solutions and Green ICT best practices is a plus.
- Skills:
- Deep understanding of telco security, cloud security, and networking.
- Ability to influence RFP requirements and drive strategic customer engagement.
- Expertise in risk management, cost optimization, and compliance-driven security design.
- Strong stakeholder management, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills.
