The role will lead and manage data governance activities to improve the protection and quality of data and information assets. The role will focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to the organisation’s data governance framework for data policies, standards and practices, both at the Group and Operating Companies level, to achieve the required level of consistency, quality and protection to meet overall business needs.

Policies Development and Implementation
- Develop, implement, and maintain data governance framework, policies and standards in alignment with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends and developments in data governance and protection and regulatory compliance to ensure existing data governance practices remain current and effective.
Drive Data Governance Practices
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to identify critical data elements to be governed and drive data quality improvement initiatives.
- Serve as a liaison between business units and technology team to ensure that data governance and protection requirements are clearly defined, communicated and considered as part of operational prioritization and planning.
- Oversee the implementation of data governance tools and technologies to support data protection and quality.
- Help drives data documentation, lineage, and quality tracking via a Data Management tool.
Awareness and Training
- Develop and deliver education tools and training sessions to educate stakeholders on data governance concepts and requirements.
Data Governance compliance checks
- Plan and conduct compliance checks to ensure that the organisation’s data practices comply with Data Governance policies and standards and identify areas for improvement to mitigate data risks.
- Develop and maintain governance and compliance dashboards for reporting purposes.
Advisory support
- Serve as a subject matter expert to provide guidance and support to business units on data governance principles and practices.
- Handle queries or complaints relating to data governance practices.
- Lead or support other governance or compliance ad-hoc projects and initiatives as required.
Skills for Success:
- Degree holder in IT or other equivalent
- A minimum of 3 years in data governance and management.
- Experience in delivering data quality initiatives that have provided tangible efficiencies or business value.
- Experience in accomplishment of large data governance programs.
- Knowledge of data governance and data protection principles and practices.
- Hands-on operational management and change management.
- Hands-on experience data governance and management tools.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Critical thinker with the ability to solve problems.
- Highest personal and professional integrity and strong work ethics.
- Good project and relationship management skills.
