NCS – a leading regional B2B digital services company – is partnering the National University of Singapore (NUS) in a joint research lab to conduct research and development in next generation cyber security technologies driven by emerging digital transformations based on AI, 5G, cloud computing, robotics, autonomous vehicles and so on.


We are looking for a candidate who is passionate about driving data science aspects of our telco and cyber analytics related initiatives. Prior experience in technology commercialization and good understanding of AI and cyber security related products and services are also required. With a strong desire to work on problems that really matter for our customers, the candidate is expected to collaborate with researchers in the NUS-NCS Lab and security vendors with the goal of developing and productizing top-notch and highly innovative solutions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Engage directly with cybersecurity SMEs to define use cases and requirements
  • Design and develop algorithms and techniques to identify new threats from large data sets
  • Work closely with other data/research scientists and data engineers to propose and develop analytical solutions
  • Be hands-on in performing development work
  • Communicate clearly to end-users, and internal/external stakeholders
  • Assemble and process large and structured/unstructured datasets that meet cyber security business requirements.
  • Create impactful demonstrations to showcase cyber analytics capabilities
  • Design and build services with a focus on business value and usability
  • Contribute to cross-functional technical discussion


  • MS/PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in software development using Python and a keen interest in cyber security
  • Experience with Apache Spark and distributed large-scale computing
  • Experience detecting malicious or anomalous events in large data sets including fluency with machine learning techniques and methodologies
  • Familiar with systems that make use of multiple machine learning and statistical methods, including ensemble learning
  • Proficient in cloud technologies and services provided by AWS, Azure, and GCP
  • Familiar with DevOps tools, such as Git, Docker, Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of networking and telecommunications
  • Proficient in SQL and other scripting languages, such as Python and Bash
