Data Scientist

As a Data Scientist with Optus on a 12 month fixed term contract, you will be at the forefront of driving the development and adoption of innovative AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics. What You’ll Do | Your day to day will consist of 

• Design, develop and deploy production grade AI solutions spanning the full spectrum from exploratory analysis and statistical modelling to machine learning and Agentic systems. 

• Support planning, development, and execution of the Optus AI roadmap across the enterprise, translating strategic objectives into initiatives that drive business outcomes. 

• Collaborate with business users and partners to develop, test, and detail new ways to help provide data-driven outcomes to the business. 

• Champion Data Science and support the ongoing implementation of innovative machine learning solutions within the team. 

What You Bring | What makes you perfect for the role? 

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Science, or IT). 

• 3+ years of experience in advanced analytics, ML/AI, deep learning, or STEM with practical solution development experience. 

• Experience using cloud platforms (GCP and/or Azure) along with expertise in modern techniques (Deep Learning, Transformers, etc.) and frameworks (Pytorch, PySpark, LangChain, PyDantic AI, ADK). 

• Proven experience delivering solutions end-to-end, both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams. 

• Passion for emerging AI technologies and a growth mindset toward continuous learning and experimentation.
