As a Data Scientist with Optus on a 12 month fixed term contract, you will be at the forefront of driving the development and adoption of innovative AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics. What You’ll Do | Your day to day will consist of

Design, develop and deploy production grade AI solutions spanning the full spectrum from exploratory analysis and statistical modelling to machine learning and Agentic systems.

Support planning, development, and execution of the Optus AI roadmap across the enterprise, translating strategic objectives into initiatives that drive business outcomes.

Collaborate with business users and partners to develop, test, and detail new ways to help provide data-driven outcomes to the business.

Champion Data Science and support the ongoing implementation of innovative machine learning solutions within the team.
What You Bring | What makes you perfect for the role?

Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g. Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Science, or IT).

3+ years of experience in advanced analytics, ML/AI, deep learning, or STEM with practical solution development experience.

Experience using cloud platforms (GCP and/or Azure) along with expertise in modern techniques (Deep Learning, Transformers, etc.) and frameworks (Pytorch, PySpark, LangChain, PyDantic AI, ADK).

Proven experience delivering solutions end-to-end, both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

Passion for emerging AI technologies and a growth mindset toward continuous learning and experimentation.
