Job Description - Design Researcher

 

The Role:

  • As Design Researcher, you will coordinate research planning, work closely with designers to design and execute research studies according to research best practices, and in a timely fashion.
  • You will use a variety of user testing methodologies to reveal actionable user insights for leadership, designers and product teams.
  • You are comfortable working with data, from gathering and analysis through to design and presentation.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Organize and conduct user testing, participating as moderator, observer and/or notes-taker where needed
  • Compile test findings and write up of test reports to be presented to internal stakeholders within agreed timeline
  • Work closely with research team members to continuously improve and ensure quality of our research studies, research standards and practices
  • Support day-to-day research operations and manage user findings database

 

Requirements:

•  Degree in Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Experimental Psychology, Information Science, related field OR equivalent practical experience.

•  2-3 years’ experience in designing and executing qualitative and quantitative research studies including moderation, analysis and final reporting to stakeholders

• Familiarity with research tools to conduct user testing and analysis (e.g. Lookback, Optimal Workshop, Eye Tracker and video recording equipment for both desktop and mobile testing (moderated and unmoderated/remote testing)

• Knowledge at working with or supporting research/insights function (Qualitative and Quantitative Research Knowledge)

• Experience in writing project briefs and scopes of work, estimating work effort, and managing resources.

• Effective interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.

• Powerful written, verbal, and visual communication skills, and demonstrated the ability to use communication skills to problem-solve

• Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills

• Self-directed and takes initiative in tackling problems

• Exceptional team player with experience leading large, complex team structures
