DevOps Engineer Automation

This position reports to the DevOps and Testing Automation Chapter Lead in Network System & Automation business unit and Group Networks.
We are seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join our Networks Automation team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the seamless delivery of infrastructure and pipeline tasks, enabling our team to operate efficiently while supporting automation initiatives across the Networks domain.
The successful candidate will collaborate with project teams to streamline workflows, enhance automation processes, and deliver scalable solutions that drive operational efficiency.
The ideal candidate will bring expertise in managing on-premise environments and have hands-on experience with modern DevOps tools and practices. You should be comfortable learning new technologies and applying these in a rapidly changing environment.
The day to day
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI and other tools.
- Manage and optimize infrastructure running on Kubernetes, and Red Hat Linux.
- Develop and maintain scripts using Python and Bash to automate routine tasks.
- Design and implement strategies for system resilience, backups, and disaster recovery to ensure business continuity in critical environments.
- Collaborate with security teams to integrate security and risk management controls into CI/CD processes and Identify, assess, and remediate vulnerabilities in containerized environments within SLA windows
- Define and create operational documentation, dashboards and alarm plans using tools like Grafana and Prometheus.
- Manage PostgreSQL databases, including performance tuning and administration.
- Handle on-premise infrastructure administration, ensuring reliability and security.
- Deploy and manage applications using ArgoCD.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Red Hat Linux.
- Hands on experience in GitLab CI or similar technology for CI/CD pipeline creation and management.
- Solid scripting skills in Python and Bash.
- Experience with database administration, particularly PostgreSQL.
Good to have
- Familiarity with OpenShift for Kubernetes management.
- Knowledge of on-premise administration and infrastructure best practices.
- Experience with observability tools like Grafana and Prometheus.
- Experience with container vulnerability detection and remediation.
- Proficiency with ArgoCD for application deployment.
