We’re seeking an experienced and strategic Director, Delivery Lead to drive high quality delivery Compliance Programs across Optus. In this critical role, you will partner with senior business leaders, Delivery Leads, Operations and IT teams to ensure successful program outcomes through rigorous planning, disciplined execution, and strong governance. You’ll champion standardised delivery frameworks, uplift capability, and enhance portfolio visibility to support informed decision making and consistently high delivery standards.
As the leader of the Compliance PMO, you’ll oversee project delivery operations, resource management, performance reporting, and continuous improvement of delivery practices. You will manage interdependencies across multiple projects and maintain a consolidated whole of program view to ensure alignment with best practice delivery, risk, and governance frameworks. This role is highly visible and influential, requiring exceptional stakeholder management and the ability to orchestrate cohesive, coordinated delivery across a complex, enterprise wide compliance program.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead planning, execution, and governance across the Compliance Program portfolio, ensuring projects meet delivery standards, timelines, and PMO frameworks.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders and delivery teams, providing oversight, resolving delivery blockers, and ensuring clear, accurate reporting on program performance.
- Drive continuous improvement by enhancing delivery processes, identifying optimisation and automation opportunities, and coaching delivery managers to uplift capability.
- Lead the PMO team and uplift delivery maturity through consistent best practice tools, frameworks, and methodologies.
- Oversee and enhance governance, risk, quality, and assurance processes while maintaining a cohesive PMO operating model.
- Lead enterprise‑wide reporting, dashboards, and performance analytics, delivering timely, accurate insights that support executive prioritisation and informed portfolio decision‑making.
- Forecast and manage resource demand while developing capability across project, program, and PMO teams.
- Build strong stakeholder relationships and support executive decision‑making through clear alignment and engagement.
What makes you perfect for the role?
- Extensive experience in project, program, and portfolio management frameworks, supported by relevant tertiary qualifications.
- 15+ years leading PMO operations or enterprise‑wide delivery environments, ideally with certifications such as PMI, PRINCE2, MSP, or SAFe.
- Proven ability to lead large, multi‑disciplinary delivery teams (30+ resources) within complex, matrixed organisations.
- Strong capability in organisational transformation, navigating ambiguity, and making effective decisions under pressure.
- Demonstrated leadership in coaching, mentoring, and developing high‑performing teams, driving continuous uplift in capability.
- Excellent stakeholder, communication, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to influence outcomes across diverse groups.
