Led by a world-class leadership crew, we are establishing a Digital Technology organisation based on a product development model. There are specialist practice managers for each of the disciplines (dev, test, and so on) that provide resources to continuous delivery “build-run” teams.


We are looking for an exceptionally talented polyglot Development Manager that understands the science of software development, and can follow the “you build it, you run it” principle.


You will lead the Development Organisation and your resources will be assigned to Domain Build-Run teams that continuously deliver and create value for our Digital Customers.


Forthcoming projects will be driving a digital transformation with teams being formed to innovate new and re-engineer existing applications that meet the challenges for the future. We are doing cloud native, continuous delivery, with containerised deployment, and we expect your Development organisation to be part of this pipeline. These are game-changing, high-impact projects, and we require the best talent locally and internationally to accelerate the momentum already created.


  • Lead talented practice managers and expert engineers who thrive in a fast paced fun environment
  • Lead software development across the full stack and full lifecycle
  • Help attract, and retain, high performing individuals by nurturing a work environment with a strong social organisational backplane where structures and processes defer to natural instincts and where technology enables serendipity
  • Establish a culture of continuous improvement through mentoring, feedback, and smart metrics (such as EQ, engagement, etc.)
  • Own and champion engineering and operational excellence through establishment of organisation-wide metrics for measurement with a consistent, regular, and practical process for assessment and improvement
  • Work with a diverse stakeholder base - business leaders, regional product development counterparts, and partner organisations
  • Have the obsession to drive a better customer experience through your Development organisation
  • Take the initiative to explore new technologies and approaches for development, testing, DevOps and cloud deployment
  • Follow the “you build it, you run it” principle, taking ownership for the entire pipeline to final delivery
  • This is specialist management role. You need to understand the science of software development, testing, and deploy and maintain actives. You are expected to guide and lead your development organisation - if you like your ivory tower this isn’t the role for you





Job Requirements

  • Degree qualified in business management, IT, computer software, electronic or computer engineering fields or equivalent industry experience.
  • DevOps management experience
  • Significant experience in an IT transformation environment, with demonstrated experience in leading change without direct line management control.
  • Experience with software delivery methodology standards, including but not limiting to waterfall, OOA/D, and unified/agile
  • Experience in managing culturally diverse & remote located teams. 
  • 10+ years of experience working in Digital Technologies 
  • Experience in managing complex organization of internal and external resources to deliver upon organizations technical objectives.
  • Understanding of DevOps tools and Frameworks.
  • You are a hands-on development lead, you can code and do code, but you are also able to face senior managers and lead teams.
  • Savvy and hands-on experience with one or more Agile approaches.
  • Familiarity with large-scale, high volume transactional systems.
  • Programming - Java, J2EE
  • SQL / NoSQL databases
  • Mobile development - Java / Kotlin, Objective - C / Swift on iOS, ReactNative
  • Javascript & libraries – React, Express, Node.JS, Gulp
  • Deployment – Jenkins, Docker, AWS
  • Big Data - Hadoop, Hive, ELK
  • Stream processing - Kafka, Flink
  • Excellent communication skills; capable of explaining to non-technical managers the implications of various technology-related initiatives/options. 
  • Natural problem solving inclination
  • High level presentation and interpersonal  skills
  • A high level of intelligence; ability to operate not only on the basis of important past experiences, but in the light of the approaches and developments that occur in the market. 
  • Inspirational leadership qualities that drive change and a culture of continuous improvement
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders.
