Devices play a critical role in driving and supporting both Singtel's product differentiation strategy. This Director, Group Commercial & Portfolio is a driven, tenacious and persuasive individual with responsibilities in driving cost saving initiatives stemming from the engagement with our key handset device manufactures. In addition, managing of strategic vendor relationships as well as shaping vendors and OS map ensuring sustainability across the businesses are critical accountabilities. The incumbent is also responsible for overall Senior Management level relationship management of all device manufacturers at a global level. This includes commercial negotiation, strategy development for device sourcing as well as defining system requirements to support our device growth.



  • Formulate business strategy to ensure business objectives are achieved and superior customer experience delivered
  • Ensure that a concise vendor strategy is agreed upon between SingTel and Optus CEOs
  • Formulate and execute quarterly vendor review sessions
  • Ensure that there is a centralized view of handset pricing and inventory details across both Singapore and Australia
  • Automate price book reporting on a monthly basis
  • Own the end-to-end of quarterly device tenders with vendors to strategically source handsets and tablets for SingTel and Optus device portfolios
  • Chair and drive weekly sessions with local device teams to ensure smooth transitions into device GTM executions
  • Provide regular updates of overall relationships including specific asks I desires to high level vendor contacts
  • On the longer term, to deliver a strategic future integrated technology roadmap for all devices



  • Min. Bachelor's Degree in Business from a recognized university with at least 10 years' of relevant experience acquired in telecommunications industry; candidates should possess strong knowledge of mobile/broadband technologies
  • Change management skills with the ability to drive acceptance of changes within the workplace
  • Analytical with good business acumen
  • Able to thrive in a fluid, demanding, and rapidly growing environment
  • Excellent leadership and people skills with the ability to manage a team
