The Finance Director is a key member of the leadership team responsible for leading the organization’s overall finance function, ensuring strong financial governance, strategic planning, regulatory compliance, and optimal capital management. The role oversees financial planning and analysis, treasury operations, investment portfolio management, tax, legal and corporate secretarial matters, audit coordination, hr support and payroll, and financial reporting to support sustainable business growth and shareholder value creation.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Finance Director serves as a trusted advisor to senior management on financial, investment, risk and corporate governance matters. The role also serves as a business partner to the Investment Committee and Board of Directors in providing timely information on investment portfolio, evaluating impairment provisions and safeguarding shareholder assets.

The scope covers 6 entities across 4 countries, inclusive of Singapore.

Financial Leadership

  • Provide periodic financial insights to the CEO, Board and senior leadership team.
  • Drive financial discipline across the organization.
  • Maintain financial performance and manage manpower issues.
  • Establish and maintain robust financial policies, controls, and governance frameworks.

 

 

Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly and quarterly consolidated financial report.
  • Oversee statutory reporting and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Present insightful financial performance to senior management and the Board.
  • Maintain high standards of financial integrity, transparency, and accountability.

 

 

Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Lead annual budgeting, long-range planning, and rolling forecast processes.
  • Monitor business performance against budgets and forecasts.
  • Develop scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making.
  • Provide actionable insights on cost optimization and resource allocation.

 

 

Investment Portfolio

  • Support the investment team maintaining overview of the company’s total investment portfolio value.
  • Coordinate with investment team lead on funding, exits, investment performance, liquidity requirements, risk and impairment assessment.
  • Present impairment paper to management and the Board for approval.
  • Coordinate with investment lead and auditors on valuation assessment of portfolio companies.
  • Ensure compliance with investment policies and risk management guidelines.
  • Manage and maintain relationship with security stock broker for quoted shares held.
  • Point of contact for accepting and management of share certificates.

 

 

Treasury, Cash & Capital Management

  • Manage treasury operations, cash flow planning, and liquidity management.
  • Oversee cash management and capital structure arrangements with Treasury and Company Secretary.
  • Ensure adequate funding and liquidity to support operational and investment funding activities.

 

 

Tax Management

  • Oversee the organization’s tax compliance framework.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all tax filings and regulatory obligations.
  • Manage corporate income tax, transfer pricing, and other tax initiatives including annual FATCA and CRS reporting, MAS declaration and updating Form W8-BenE as required.
  • Liaise with external tax advisors on obtaining tax exemption certificate, overseas tax filings and ad-hoc matters.
  • Identify tax optimization opportunities while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

 

 

Legal & Company Secretarial Oversight

  • Support external legal counsel on investment transactions, KYC and other corporate governance matters.
  • Coordinate with in-house legal counsel on contracts and regulatory matters ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Support Board and shareholder meetings, coordinating, preparing and reviewing of board resolutions and corporate documentation.
  • Oversee company secretarial activities and maintenance of statutory records.

 

 

Audit, Risk & Internal Controls

  • Lead relationships with external and internal auditors.
  • Coordinate annual statutory audits and ensure timely completion of audit requirements.
  • Address audit findings and implement corrective actions.
  • Strengthen internal controls and governance processes.
  • Monitor compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

 

 

General HR, Payroll and Administrative matters

  • Provide general HR and office administrative support across the organization.
  • Responsible for payroll processing for US office, employee records management, leave and benefits administration, statutory reporting ensuring compliance with local regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with external overseas vendors on payroll and leave management issues.
  • Laise with landlord and collaboration partner for office lease renewal.

 

 

Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Lead, mentor and develop the finance and related support functions.
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, integrity and continuous improvement
  • Collaborate effectively with business leaders and external stakeholders including auditors, legal and tax advisors.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives

 

 

Skills to Succeed

 

  • Bachelor degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline.
  • Professional qualifications such as CPA, CA, ACCA, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 12–15 years of progressive finance leadership experience, including experience in senior finance management level.
  • Experience in investment portfolio management, treasury, financial planning and analysis, tax, audit, hr, admin, payroll and corporate governance.
  • Experience interacting with Boards, shareholders and regulatory authorities.
  • Good understanding of accounting standards, financial regulations, and risk management principles.
  • Experience in managing legal and company secretarial matters is highly desirable
  • Familiarity with cross-border investments and multi-entity structures is advantageous
