The Director is performing a strategic interface between IT and Consumer SG, Network, International Group & GDL from relationship and account management. He/she is responsible for managing a group of IT BP Managers to engage tightly with business in reviewing on-going business requirements, new initiatives and looking for business differentiators.

 

The Director is expected to drive the annual IT planning for IT BP team with strong alignment with GIT delivery domains and Consumer SG business domains covering budget, timeline and balancing the IT project demand and supply management for all Singtel’s Business Units (BUs).

 

  • Act as the strategic interface between IT and assigned business units, accountable for end-to-end delivery of IT solutions & services
  • Function as IT’s advocate, marketer and communicator by developing a solid understanding of the current and planned IT architecture, applications and solutions that support the business and of the broader technology environment.
  • Contribute to the development of the business unit’s strategy, plans and priorities by providing relevant input and understanding of existing and emerging technologies, applications and trends
  • Handle Business portfolio planning and management for assigned business unit
  • Identify and present new ideas and service opportunities to the business units and contribute to significant operational efficiencies, business opportunities and outstanding customer experience
  • Bring IT and business leaders together to focus on IT operating performance, issues, risks and other relevant strategic matters
  • Manage capital and operational budgets to deliver maximum business value within financial and operational constraints and provide cost transparency to business.
  • Identify and present new ideas to Business which shall transform business operations, reduce operating cost and/or generate profitable revenue.

 

Leadership and People Management

  • Manage and direct the activities of direct and indirect (virtual team members) resources to ensure that deadlines, standards and cost targets are met
  • Define and regularly track progress of team member(s) objectives and KPIs
  • Grow and develop team and adapt management style to situational needs
  • Lead and drive improvements in employee engagement and capability
  • Conform and promote conformance to the company’s governance processes, policies and procedures.

 

Financial Management

  • Contribute to defining and managing the IT BP divisional capital and operational budgets.
  • Partner with the business stakeholders to develop and manage the IT budget to deliver maximum business value within financial and operational constraints and provide cost transparency to the business

 

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in IT or equivalent experience
  • Managed technically complex, diverse functions within similar organizations
  • Lead large-scale portfolios
  • Managed senior stakeholder relationships within similar organisations
  • Extensive experience  managing senior stakeholder relationships
  • Lead business transformations, particularly leading teams without direct line management control.
  • Advanced experience with MS Office Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Visio and Project
  • Good communications
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Strong influencer across BUs and IT delivery domains
  • Meticulous
  • People person
  • Strong Project Risk Assessment
  • Demonstrate coaching/mentoring capabilities
  • Ability to facilitate idea generation

 

Good to have:

  • Extensive, large scale IT Project Management, Business Program Management and/or Product Development experience
  • Telecommunications industry experience
  • Managing C-level stakeholder relationships
  • Deep knowledge of the assigned BU processes/activities, preferably gained from an operational role within that or a similar BU.
