The Director for Network & Security Operations will provide the necessary leadership and direction to deliver reliable and quality network and security services for enterprise customers. The incumbent will be responsible for strategy, financial planning and budgeting, business planning and leading a Network Operation team who is responsible for designing, Implementation and operation of services across Telco and ICT services, new service launches and supporting new business opportunities.

 

 

Responsibilities

 

Strategic and Functional

 

  • Accountable and responsible to manage Global Network & Security Operations across Telco and ICT which has over 230 engineers
  • Providing strategic leadership in terms of technology network and security competency and service delivery
  • Overseeing and managing the service delivery function for Telco services from pre-sales to post-sales

 

 

Financial

 

  • Developing the annual budget planning for the services and ensuring the financial KPI’s are delivered
  • Managing the Operation expense and capital expenditure for the Network Operations function
  • Driving the revenue over cost improvement for the department through effective cost management initiatives

 

 

Business

 

  • Leading and managing the Service Operation function for Corporate Network services
  • Tracking, monitoring and managing the network to ensure that the network elements and service levels deliver the expected performance in accordance with the SLA
  • Innovating and crafting solutions to meet customers’ requirement in cost effective way
  • Working closely with the internal stakeholders to ensure the services are delivered smoothly and meet SLA requirements
  • Ensuring overall reliability, availability and operational excellence of Network Infrastructure
  • Designing, implementation and operation of the infrastructure for regional delivery centres
  • Managing 3rd party suppliers and product principles in engineering, pre-sales and service delivery phase
  • Acting as single point of contact for Network Operation on the Infrastructure, technical leadership to drive standardisation, scalability and service improvement through innovative approach
  • Leading and supporting in customer and regulatory engagement from technical perspective.
  • Ensuring compliance to Networks and Systems Security, Change Management policies and Service Assurance requirements
  • Ensuring compliance to IMDA Code of Practice e.g. Outage Reporting Code, Service Resiliency Code, Quality of Service Code, Secure & Resilient Internet Infrastructure Code
  • Developing and driving Operational Excellence initiatives to increase automation, increase efficiencies with aim to optimize resources and year-on-year increased productivity
  • Developing and driving Service Excellence initiatives to enable visibility of service & system performance for reviews and to reduce network faults/incidents, reduced churn and improve customer experiences.

 

 

People

  • Providing thought leadership to teams of highly technical staff to ensure Operations achieved High Network Availability, Fast service turnaround, Effective Problem Management and adaptation of top tier Telco best practices in Change Management processes
  • Planning and executing the necessary training and skill set development for the for team members to ensure team adequately trained in respective platforms and future technology areas
  • Formulating effective & efficiency work processes within division and cross-functional interworking to facilitate team executions are aligned to work processes; Smooth execution of projects with appropriate resources and support; Conflicts resolutions and clearing of road blocks to enable projects completion with teams collaborations
  • Inspiring teams to achieve goals with service excellence and innovations
  • Attracting and retaining staff

 

 

The ideal candidate should possess

 

  • Degree in Computer / Electronics Engineering preferably with major in communication, or any other relevant discipline
  • At least 15 years of experience in Network infrastructure design, build and operation with minimum 5 years in management role
  • Strong knowledge on network equipment, technology, routing protocols and network management systems
  • Strong leadership, Interpersonal and mentoring skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and matrix organization
  • Customer Focus, drive for results
  • Proven operational experience in managing Network operations
