Director, Product Engineering

Reporting to the Director (Cloud Product Management & Partnerships) the person in this position will have direct responsibility for leading the platform engineering; inclusive of strategy, roadmaps, innovation, product development, sales enablement, continuous improvement, lifecycle management and customer experience for the product.


The candidate will be the champion of solutions developing new and innovative capability to differentiate Singtel from our competitors to facilitate grow revenue and improve margins, and will also be an advocate internally and foster strong working relationship with Sales, Sales Specialists, Solutions Architects, Stakeholders across EDMS, Finance, Networks, Optus as well as industry Partners to meeting practice objectives as set out in the Annual Operating Plan.


To be successful in this role, the candidate should  possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision as well as the drive and attention to detail that transforms vision into a reality, enjoy spending time with clients (internal and external) and other market representatives to understand their needs, and to define innovative solutions.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Define technology vision and provide technical leadership for both short- and long-term business goals. Own and oversee all the DevSecOps and changes in architecture
  • Position and design features targeting adoption use cases, throughout a cross-sectional set of platform areas. By either supporting idea creation or implementing directly, through to delivery and customer success.
  • Develop and deliver on a coherent strategy, including design, user requirements, market assessments, scalable delivery plan, and marketing strategy.
  • Deliver resources to support adoption through various channels, training, trailhead, blogs, and internal proof of concepts.
  • Collaborate across multiple teams internally. These services have a high number of internal stakeholders with conflicting needs and require strong product leadership to ensure alignment, consistent design principles, and adoption from other teams.
  • Balance product vision with partner and customer feedback, prioritizing across a diverse set of inputs and constituents.
  • Engage with our partner and customer communities to drive customer enthusiasm and product adoption. Working closely with key customers to envision, plan, and execute along with assigned architecture and consulting resources.
  • Managing and driving Customer Satisfaction and Demand Surveys (supported by external vendors).
  • Conducting or arranging product training/briefing for customers and non-customers.
  • Managing vendors and their performance, contracts, and renewals.
  • Establishing and managing vendor payment or settlement process.
  • Keeping updated on market technology developments for regular review of product risk roadmap.
  • Involving with UAT of products before production/launch.
  • Engaging with stakeholders across the Group, including Optus, NCS, Amobee. Trustwave, or other  Singtel departments, etc to drive new services development.



  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in business to business product and solution management. Engineering / Computing degree
  • Possessed Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Certifications
  • Experience in B2B platforms, ecoomerce, Public, Hybrid Cloud Product Management
  • Understanding of Public Cloud, DevOps practices, Private/Hybrid Cloud, Tools and other Cloud / DevOps technologies.
  • Experience in managing complex products/solutions and capability development projects
  • Past product development and evangelist experience 

  • Experience in vendor selection/assessment, negotiation and vendor management  

  • Good commercial acumen, financial and operational judgment

  • Ability to determine, priorities and articulate business requirements

  • Understanding of customer value principles and the ability to create customer and internal documentation to support    

  • Good market, competitive knowledge and insight
