What You’ll Do 

Partnering closely with the SOCI & Cyber Compliance and leadership team, as well as multiple senior internal stakeholders across Optus, you will be responsible for: 

  • Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of Optus’ Telecommunications Sector Risk Management Program (TSRMP) to meet SOCI Act obligations.  

  • Provide enterprise governance and oversight of critical infrastructure risks across cyber, physical, personnel and supply chain hazard domains.  

  • Advise and influence Hazard and Function Owners to ensure effective risk assessments, treatment plans, controls and auditable evidence are in place.  

  • Design and execute the annual SOCI assurance program, including control testing, evidence collection, remediation tracking and Board attestation support.  

  • Maintain regulatory readiness by coordinating SOCI notifications, regulator information requests, audits and evidence submissions.  

  • Chair and manage the SOCI Risk and Compliance Committee, including agendas, reporting, governance materials and action tracking.  

  • Deliver authoritative reporting and assurance to senior executives, the Board and Singtel Group on critical infrastructure risk posture and compliance status 

 
 

What You’ll Bring 

  • Extensive seniorlevel experience in risk, compliance or regulatory leadership within large, complex or highly regulated organisations.  

  • Strong SOCI and critical infrastructure expertise, with a practical understanding of TSRMP requirements and regulatory expectations.  

  • Proven ability to lead enterprisescale programs, building and embedding fitforpurpose governance, assurance and control frameworks.  

  • Exceptional stakeholder influence, confidently engaging executives, Boards, regulators and technical leaders across a federated environment.  

  • Strategic and commercially minded judgement, balancing compliance, risk reduction and business priorities.  

  • Demonstrated experience supporting Boardlevel assurance, including attestations, regulatory submissions and audit readiness.  

  • Calm, credible leadership, able to make sound decisions in highpressure, highvisibility situations.
