This role is responsible for leading Singtel Singapore’s overall strategy and corporate transformation (including AI push), while managing the end-to-end business planning and performance management for Singtel Singapore’s business units. It is part of a high priority talent pipeline for Singtel.

 

The Director, Strategy & Transformation, acts as 2IC to the Head, Strategy & Transformation and plays a critical role in shaping strategic priorities, driving organisation-wide change, and ensuring alignment of business outcomes with Singtel Singapore’s long-term strategic objectives. They leverage data to diagnose, conceptualise and act as a thought partner to business units and the leadership team.

 

Leading a fast-paced, high performing team in the CEOs office, the Director is a strong leader, coach and mentor who develops teams to grow their skills and be examples of excellence in this highly visible team. A versatile problem solver, they shift seamlessly between strategy, consulting, engagement, and change management, collaborating across functions and facilitating decision-making at all levels.

 

The role also drives the business planning process for Singtel Singapore, including the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), performance management frameworks, and leadership communications to support execution and accountability.

 

 

Make An Impact By

 

 

Strategy Development and Execution

 

  • Support the Head S&T in leading the definition and refinement of Singtel Singapore’s strategic direction, in collaboration with the Singapore Leadership Team.
  • Conduct data-driven analytics to inform recommendations on strategy and organisational priorities.
  • Be a thought partner to the leadership team to provide objective, business critical analysis and insights to advocate, challenge, and enable business decisions.
  • Oversee the execution of priority strategic initiatives across Singapore business units, ensuring overall alignment and realising business impact.
  • Develop content for strategic CEO communications including SMW, AOP, Board papers, CEO Forums, Investor Releases, and the Annual Report.

 

 

Advance Business Performance

 

  • Set annual objectives, quarterly milestones, and drive strategy and operational excellence across the organization.
  • Define success metrics and KPIs to track effectiveness of transformation initiatives.
  • Align top-level priorities with operational execution and identify areas for improvement.
  • Seek and bring in external best practices, including conducting research, testing emerging ideas and technologies, to identify effective strategies and solutions to achieve transformation objectives.

 

 

Transformation governance and delivery

 

  • Lead enterprise-wide transformation efforts, and other cross-functional programs aimed at improving customer outcomes, productivity, and employee engagement.
  • Champion change management and cultural transformation across business units.
  • Lead governance and oversight of strategic initiatives with cross-functional ownership, ensuring clarity of roles, accountability, and delivery of outcomes.
  • Act as a senior transformation partner, challenging norms and driving improvement.

 

 

Internal Communications and Employee Engagement

 

  • Develop internal communication strategies to align employees with strategic and cultural priorities.
  • Plan and implement leadership workshops, executive offsites, and townhalls, from storyboarding to logistics.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of key CEO-led employee engagement events, including:
  • All-in Townhalls
  • Annual Innovation Programs
  • Top Executive Workshops

 

  • Ensure events are engaging and memorable and aligned with strategic priorities.
  • Maintain communication platforms.
  • Promote initiatives that reinforce culture, recognize behaviors, and build change momentum.

 

 

Business Planning for Consumer BUs

 

  • Manage business performance, ensuring delivery of strategic initiatives and responsiveness to market shifts, risks, and opportunities.
  • Lead the annual business planning process, including ensuring alignment in the development of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), performance scorecards, and KPI tracking for these BUs.
  • Drive leadership engagement through executive workshops, board sessions, and townhalls.
  • Coordinate cross-functional resources and prioritisation for key initiatives.
  • Execute strategic projects as assigned.

 

 

Skills To Succeed

 

 

  • Relevant degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience. An Executive MBA or other advanced business qualification is preferred.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in management consulting, strategy, transformation, or a comparable role, with experience navigating change in large and complex organisations.
  • Strong track record in leading large-scale business, operating model, or organisational transformation programmes from strategy through implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to structure, manage, and deliver complex, cross-functional programmes with ambitious business outcomes.
  • Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate insights into practical actions.
  • Proven ability to engage, influence, and build credibility with senior stakeholders, including senior management, Board-level stakeholders, government agencies, and C-suite executives.
  • Ability to facilitate timely strategic decisions at senior leadership level and drive initiatives through to implementation.
  • Strong understanding of cross-functional and cross-business-unit operating environments, with the ability to work effectively across functions, business units, and operating companies.
  • Strong stakeholder management, collaboration, and influencing skills, including the ability to align diverse perspectives and secure commitment to shared outcomes.
  • Demonstrated people leadership skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, and inspire teams to perform effectively.
  • Strong project and programme management capabilities, including prioritisation, governance, risk management, and execution discipline.
  • Strong analytical capability, including experience using data to support business decisions and communicate insights.
  • Proficiency in data analytics and visualisation tools such as Power BI or equivalent platforms.
  • Experience in market research and qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
  • Exposure to business operations and operational improvement initiatives is advantageous.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly to different audiences.
  • Comfortable operating in a complex, fast-moving environment and taking ownership of strategic initiatives across multiple stakeholders and functions.
