Reporting to CFO, International Group, this role is expected to support the identification of value creation opportunities, formulate & execute Singtel’s regional growth strategy, and helping to grow the region’s contribution to the Singtel Group’s performance.
The role focuses on driving regional collaborations (both between Singtel and RAs and between RAs), to reap the synergies across the group and to create value for both Singtel and the JVs. It requires sharp business acumen and strong stakeholder management skills to be able to contribute meaningfully.
Support CFO, International Group in working with the Business Management teams to review business performance and financials (including preparation of the annual AOP for JVs consol), business intelligence gathering, regulatory and competition environment assessment, support on shareholders matters, strategic planning, thought leadership and regional initiatives.
The role will also encompass internal strategic engagements /projects which involve the JVs. These include but not limited to annual CEO forum, CFO forum, SMW, etc.
In addition to the above regional responsibilities and to support the Group’s ST28 strategy, the role has been expanded to provide business management coverage for the Singtel Singapore (ST SG) to drive long term value and growth. Specifically, to:
- Protect Singtel’s shareholder rights & interest,
- Support Singtel’s Excom reps to ST SG,
- Drive partnerships & strategic value creation initiatives
Strategic and Operational Leadership for ST SG:
- Provide insights on ST SG’s business strategy and ensure alignment with Group strategic objectives.
- Cultivate relationships with ST SG leadership (CXOs, SVPs, VPs) to influence strategic outcomes & business results.
- Monitor ST SG financial and business performance & offer strategic insights to Excom reps.
- Collaborate with relevant teams such as, finance, technical, IT, commercial teams & etc to review Capex, spectrum & business proposals, in order to provide Excom recommendations.
- Partner with M&A teams on financial models, valuations, M&A deals, due diligence, and business reviews.
Strategic Insight, Regional Collaborations and Capital Management:
- Monitor industry and competitor analysis, and identify strategic opportunities to enhance ST SG businesses, including setting new business ventures
- Build relationships with key stakeholders, including business partners and government agencies in.
- Drive collaborations and partnerships between ST SG, Singtel Group functions and regional associates.
- Provide advisory on M&A projects related to ST SG.
- Support the Capital Management team in executing value creation strategies.
Skills for Success
- CA/CPA and accounting degree qualifications
- Minimum 12 years’ experience in financial role at middle/senior management level in strategy, banking or consulting
- Solid working knowledge of accounting concepts
- Proficiency in financial and management accounting and auditing skills
- Strong financial modelling skills
- Analytical, organisational, project management skills
- Strategy formulation and execution
- Strong leadership and management skills - Able to lead, guide and motivate a team to meet corporate goals and objectives
- Good interpersonal skills with ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both within and across business units.
