Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Linux & Windows administration that includes server setup, hardening, deployment, and maintenance that includes patching and system monitoring.
• Able to configure and setup basic linux Daemons such as routing, sshd, xinetd, cronjob, tomcat;
• Provisioning and de-provisioning Azure Cloud Resource for internal customers. (AWS, G-Cloud added advantage)
• Regular maintenance of provisioned systems including patch management, hardening, backup, system monitoring etc.
• Apply changes to OS & Azure Resources depending on requirements.
• Deploying, managing, and operating Cloud environments
• Database Maintenance (MySQL, MSSQL) and Support (backup/restore and upgrades)
• Support Incident troubleshooting and resolution.
• Basic troubleshooting of Applications (check health, start/restart, check logs, etc)
• Automate maintenance activities.
• 24x7 Standby support is required.

• Strong team player to project and application team to ensure key deliverables meet customer expectation.
• Demonstrate team synergy and harmonize team integration.
• A pro-active approach to work, with a positive can-do attitude.
• Keen to learn and explore new skills outside of core skillset.

The Ideal Candidate Should Have/ Be

• Minimum 3 years of relevant IT experience in Systems environment and Windows/Linux Administration in both Cloud & On-Prem
• A good tertiary education in computer science.
• Experience provisioning, operating, and maintaining systems running on Azure (AWS is a plus)
• Knowledge of Windows & Linux security and best practices.
• Full understanding of PowerShell and BASH/shell scripting.
• Deployment experience using common Azure technologies like VNET, VM, VMSS, Azure Blob, AKS, Azure LB, Azure SQL DBs, Azure FW and more.
• Deployment experience using common AWS technologies like VPC, and regionally distributed EC2 instances, S3, Cloudtrail, Cloudformation, ELB, Route53, are nice to have but NOT mandatory.
• At least one of the following Azure Cloud Certifications:
• Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104)
• Microsoft Azure Developer (AZ-204)
• Microsoft Azure Solution Architect (AZ-305)
• Microsoft Azure DevOps Engineer (AZ-400)
• AWS Cloud Certificates are nice to have but NOT mandatory.
• Knowledge of system and cloud monitoring tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Preferred previous experience/exposure as MySQL/MSSQL Database Administrator.
• Capable to ask the right question to customers to determine the right requirements to a change.
• Capable of doing in-depth analysis of error logs, debugging and tracing errors on the system on development environment, test environment or production/staging environment.
• Good understanding of web services and its capabilities.
• Experience on different cloud platform such as AWS, Google Cloud is a plus.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps Toolset is an added advantage: JIRA, Confluence, GitLab, Jenkins.
