This Engineer, Cloud Infrastucture (Virtualization/ Windows) will be responsible for the Operations of our virtualization and container infrastructure in our customized OnPremise Private Cloud. The successful candidates will help maintain the hardware & virtualization environment in a high state of operational readiness, and in compliance with the necessary security measures.

He/she will help ensure that patching is carried out according to the defined schedule, and will work closely with the Change Management and the application teams to ensure that patches are applied on time. The candidate will help provide L1 and L2 support to applications for Windows & Linux OS related issues. as well has help coordinate any hardware RMA activity. 

Make an Impact by:

• Operations and maintenance of VMware, Nutanix, Openshift and HyperV and Compute hardware or software in on premises datacentres. Support Wintel & Linux related issues and requests and changes requested by application or infrstructure teams.
• Playing a major role in the operations of the virtualization infrastructure, including maintaining security tools, automation tools, outsourced vendor management if any
• Making sure that all Virtualization and OS infrastructure patches are up to date and infrastructure is current and resilient.
• Work with Change Management to propose and implement changes, especially for patching for ongoing quality, efficiency and resiliency requirements
• Ensure that operational SLA’s are met, and crafting meaningful reports and metrics to track progress of current infrastructure, including capacity planning and operational improvements
• Ensure operations are in compliance with security and best practices adopted by the industry 
• Document and communicate processes and standards
• Ensure solution compliance and integration with enterprise architecture and Infosec policy for Infrastructure and Security systems by reviewing and advising on new and existing Information Technology projects
• Providing advice and guidance to management during planning phases to ensure that non-functional requirements are included in the overall specifications

Skills for Success:

• Degree in computer science/ Information Technology, Industry certification
• 5-8 years of experience working and familiar with corporate infra operations in virtualization, Windows and Linux OS.
• Hands on troubleshooting skills to aid with the resolution of Redhat Openshift and HyperV and Compute hardware or software related issues. 
• Experience in VMware environment troubleshooting and patching, including hardware firmware upgrades. VMware certification is a plus.
• Experience in Nutanix/ Red Hat Server administration and configuration
• Experience in OpenShift containers and virtualization is a plus.
• Possess Windows and Linux experience to be able to perform effective troubleshooting.
• Experience with Kubernetes infrastructure and Ansible scripting is a big plus. 
• Familiar with security hygiene and best practices, compute/storage operations. 
• Willing to work on shift basis (e.g. 12 hours shift)
