The Engineer, Middleware Support is responsible for the Operations of Middleware infrastructure on UNIX and Windows platforms. The successful candidates will help maintain applications in the Middleware environment in a high state of operational readiness, and in compliance with the necessary security measures. He/she will help ensure that patching is carried out according to the defined schedule and will work closely with the Change Management and the application teams to ensure that patches are applied on time. The candidate will help provide L1 and L2 support to applications for Middleware related issues.

The candidate will also help in the process of automating the maintenance of the infrastructure through scripting. He/she will work on process and monitoring improvements to ensure that the infrastructure is always up. He/she will also take part in capacity planning exercises and participate in management reporting.

Make an Impact by:

• Operations and maintenance of Middle infrastructure in on premises datacentres, VMware or Azure stack solutions. Support Middleware related service requests and changes requested by application or infrastructure teams.
• Playing a major role in the operations of the Middleware infrastructure, including maintaining middleware security tools, automation tools, outsourced vendor management if any
• Making sure that all Middleware infrastructure patches are up to date and infrastructure is current and resilient.
• Work with Change Management to propose and implement changes, especially for Data Center migration patching for ongoing quality, efficiency and resiliency requirements
• Ensure that operational SLAs are met, and crafting meaningful reports and metrics to track progress of current infrastructure, including capacity planning and operational improvements
• Ensure operations are in compliance with security and best practices adopted by the industry
• Document and communicate processes and standards
• Ensure solution compliance and integration with enterprise architecture and Infosec policy for Infrastructure and Security systems by reviewing and advising on new and existing Information Technology projects
• Providing advice and guidance to management during planning phases to ensure that non-functional requirements are included in the overall specifications

Skills for Success:

• Degree in computer science/ Information Technology, Industry certification 
• 3-5 years of experience working and familiar with corporate infra operations in Middleware support. Familiar with security hygiene and best practices, compute/storage operations. Able to articulate well on proposed design to stakeholder.
• Managing and administrating Middleware stack support Oracle WebLogic Server, JBoss EAP, MQ, Cache servers, Apache HTTPD and Tomcat set up and administration support.
• Having a strong grasp of SSL principles, concepts, and hands-on experience with SSL certificate management is critical in this role.
• Manage and update middleware configurations based on application requirements.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and presentation skills
• Should have moderate experience with UNIX / Linux / window operating systems.
• Collaborate with Level 3 support and vendors for complex problem resolution
