 Summary

 

The Enterprise Architect for financial services, is responsible to drive NCS' vision and investments that supports our strategic business goals for the financial services industry.  He/She is an expert in architecture solution, performance engineering and enterprise architect practices spanning application, data and technology architectures.

 

He/She will report directly to the Client Service Lead, MAS, and contribute to the development and implementation of the long-term technology roadmap in the key clients’ business domains. With his/her insights and knowledge of the industry, he/she designs and creates the most appropriate architecture and day-to-day technical leadership in complex project(s). This is done by providing tailored and customised business and technology solutions suitable for the key clients.

 

Beyond looking at improving the IT infrastructure and optimising business operations for integrating information applications and programmes for the key clients, the Enterprise Architect, is also responsible for cataloging, developing, coordinating, communicating, maintaining and enforcing overall enterprise architecture models, representations, initiatives, capabilities and components to ensure that they key client’s business and technology activities are at optimal performance

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership in the areas of architecture solutioning and performance engineering for key clients in the specified industry
  • Maintain control over the architecture throughout the entire software development lifecycle by administering critical adjustments to the architecture to ensure desired results are achieved
  • Involve in requirement analysis phase to ensure the implementation feasibility of functional specifications. Highlight requirement gaps, disproportional construction efforts, technical challenges and other issues to business analyst teams.
  • Develop the Technical Design Specification (TDS)
  • Partner the Client Delivery Lead, and Solution Managers and Project teams from Lines of Business (LOBs) to engage customers as subject matter expert to explain the rationale of architecture selection, or other technical issues.
  • Ensure best practices, frameworks and re-useable components are employed in the project.
  • Define system-level application architecture for key clients, which include high-level design, architectural policies and principles, design and programming guidelines, implementation risks and mitigation measures, software development and integration strategies, software configuration controls, etc.
  • Advises and recommends enterprise architecture strategies, processes and methodologies most suitable for the key clients
  • Shares best practices, lessons learned and constantly updates the technical system architecture requirements based on changing technologies, and knowledge related to recent, current and upcoming vendor products and solutions
  • Identifies implementation risks and analyses potential impact on the enterprise and on the achievement of scheduled objectives

 

The Ideal Candidate Should Have:

 

  • Degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Technology related field, or IT equivalent
  • More than 15 years of experience in a technical role with responsibilities that apply in-depth knowledge of architectural principles and design
  • Broad and deep knowledge in current IT technologies
    • Domain knowledge in Financial Services preferred
  • Working knowledge of DevOps software development tools and methodologies
  • Proficiency in Java-related technology specification and standards
  • Possess design thinking skillsets
    • Certification in appropriate technologies a plus. Acumen in new digital technologies, e.g. blockchain, RPA, microservices
  • Self-motivated with a positive “can-do” attitude, creative with excellent presentation, communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills including strong persuasive techniques
  • Ability to lead, develop and maintain respectful and trusting relationship
    • Good to have experience in facilitation of workshop sessions
  • Proficient in written and spoken English
