Finance Associate (General Accounting)

Reporting to the Finance Manager(s), you will be handling the monthly closing of NCS companies and ensuring true and fair reporting and timely preparation of financial statements and reports, to meet both management and statutory reporting requirements.  


You are responsible for working alongside Finance Manager(s) or independently to implement changes to processes/operations and be involved in financial reporting systems improvements projects, including robotic processing automation.  You will play an important role to provide direct support and coordinate with business units in reviewing and enhancing operational policies and procedures, implementation of internal controls, setting up of processes for new initiatives as well as providing detailed financial analysis.  Other reporting requirements include governance and reporting matters over inventories, and any other ad hoc financial reporting matters.  You will be responsible for liaison with auditors and tax consultants on audit and tax planning/compliance.


Some of the key work scope of the role includes:

•    Prepare and perform monthly financial analysis on Direct Sales Margins. Present and provide explanations on variances and ensure that irregularities are adjusted and addressed promptly before month-end close.
•    Execute policies, procedures and processes for inventory management and perform a key role in inventory counts.
•    Prepare and perform journal entries in SAP, prepare inventory management reports and schedules.
•    Review balance sheet schedules and highlight long outstanding balances and other irregularities to process owners for resolutions.
•    Assist Finance Manager to implement changes to financial accounting/governance processes for inventories, including automation.
•    Assist Finance Manager to review Systems Access Rights to ensure proper segregation of duties.
•    Assist Finance Manager with monthly and quarterly staff costs reporting to management. 
•    Review NCS group of companies corporate income tax, including GST and other taxes and ensure compliance issues are highlighted and addressed.
•    Provide support to ensure external and internal auditors' queries and concerns are satisfactorily addressed.
•    Prepare audited financial statements.
•    Responsible for monthly reconciliation of cyber accounts.
•    Any other ad hoc tasks and duties that may be assigned.


The ideal candidate should be / possess: 
•    Degree/Diploma in Accounting with at least 5 years of relevant working experience
•    Work experience in MNC and listed companies preferred
•    Good working knowledge of SAP
•    Proactive and result oriented
•    Creative thinker with strong interpersonal and communications skills
•    A team player who is willing to learn and take on additional roles in a dynamic environment
•    Able to work in a fast pace environment and meet tight deadlines.
