The Finance Director, Consumer and Mobile Equipment, provides financial leadership, business partnering and commercial support to the Customer Success, Customer Lifecycle Management & Insights, Marcom and Mobile Equipment team(s). The Director will lead and guide a team of finance professionals to support on financial reporting, management reporting & analysis, planning and budgeting, business case evaluation, cost allocation, business process improvements, audit and internal controls.
Make an Impact by
- Lead team to provide weekly, monthly, quarterly, half yearly and annual financial performance reports; covering operating expense and capital expenditure, as well as detailed analyses of key business drivers, enabling the Customer Success, Customer Lifecycle Management & Insights, Marcom and Mobile Equipment team(s) to make sound business and operational decisions. The team shall be the primary finance support to the business units.
- Tracking of KPIs to ensure that business targets are met and keeping line management informed of progress so that prompt and appropriate actions can be taken to improve performance where necessary.
- Preparation of Operating Forecast and Annual Budgeting, Cost allocation, Mobile Equipment Product Costing/Pricing and monitoring exercises such as AI Value Pools. Mobile Equipment Product reporting view should include Residential+CIS+BS+Enterprise.
- Oversee the preparation of business cases, capital expenditure requests, incentive programmes including internal and external sales commissions for Residential, CIS and BS sales channels, management committee and board papers to ensure sound financial justification prior to sign-off by VP/MD/CEO.
- Partner the business in selection of partners, setting up accounting/legal/banking/tax processes and all other backend process for new initiatives/product/vendor/customer/vendors.

4. Mobile Equipment units include: (1) Mobile Marketing (Equipment) (2) Device Business Unit
6. Develop, maintain and revise policies, procedures, processes and internal controls to ensure that proper governance is practiced and upheld at the Business Units and TEPL legal entity
7. Review statutory accounts, interco balances, tax computation/GST submission, banking matters for TEPL & TEI legal entities
8. Inventory Management to review Inventory turnover ratios, manage ageing/provisioning of stocks and backend system processes for Inventory and COGS
9. Vendor Rebates Management to ensure accuracy, timeliness of accruals and collection from Vendors
10. Respond to inquiries and solving problems relating to accounting related matters as well as ensuring follow-up actions from Internal Audit and External Audit findings
11. Provide risk and governance oversight to the business; implement, monitor and review processes to close control gaps and mitigate potential risk
12. Any other ad-hoc duties or responsibilities as assigned
Skills for Success
- Recognized Accounting or Finance degree
- Minimally 10 years of relevant commercial and audit experience with at least 4 years at supervisory level with management accountability
- Integrity and firm in ensuring compliance of policies and internal controls
- Good understanding of the relevant Accounting Standards and tax requirements
- Good understanding of management / financial / regulatory reporting requirements
- Good understanding of financial systems (SAP)
- Strong knowledge in operational finance
- Good Microsoft Office Skills
