We are looking for a Finance Executive – Capital Accounting to assist Finance Manager in the Capital Accounting to ensure accurate and timely processing of capital expenditure transactions, WIP reporting, and compliance with the Capital Accounting Control Framework.  The individual is also required to provides analytical and operational support for capital accounting processes.

 

 

Make an Impact by:

 

1. Capital Accounting Operations & Compliance

  • Process and validate capital expenditure transactions in line with capital accounting policies and control frameworks
  • Review Asset In Service (AIS) documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Support compliance activities such as timesheet validation, capital drawdown tracking, and funding allocation follow-ups
  • Assist in periodic reporting requirements (e.g., capital expenditure surveys)

 

2. WIP & Capital Spend Monitoring

  • Maintain and update WIP trackers, identifying inactive or completed projects for follow-up
  • Support review and analysis of WIP balances with relevant stakeholders
  • Monitor capital allocation and track spend against approved budgets
  • Track and report capital expenditure to ensure accuracy and timeliness

 

3. Month-End Close & Reconciliations

  • Prepare and review capital accounting reconciliations (e.g., WIP, accruals, GRIR, and related balances)
  • Support month-end close activities and ensure timelines are met
  • Prepare and distribute capital reports to stakeholders
  • Investigate and resolve variances identified during reconciliation processes

 

4. Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly capital expenditure reports and variance analysis
  • Support ad hoc analysis and reporting requests from stakeholders
  • Assist in developing dashboards and reporting tools to enhance visibility

 

5. Process Improvement & Transformation

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance automation
  • Support ERP and finance transformation initiatives (e.g., SAP S/4HANA upgrades), including testing and documentation
  • Assist in developing process documentation and training materials
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function

 

6. Stakeholder Management & Support

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support capital accounting processes
  • Provide timely and accurate financial information to finance teams and business units
  • Support ad hoc tasks and projects as required

 

 

 

Skills for Success

 

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA) completed or in progress is an advantage
  • 3–5 years of experience in financial accounting or related areas
  • Experience in capital accounting, fixed assets, or project accounting is beneficial
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP S/4HANA or similar platforms)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and integrity
