The Finance Manager - Record to Report will lead and support the establishment of a new shared services function. This newly created role will be based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and will play a key part in setting up a brand-new RTR team of approximately 7 to 9 members. The role is responsible for driving RTR operational excellence, embedding shared services best practices, and strengthening the team’s capabilities to support multiple business units within the organization.

 

Make an Impact By:


Financial Close & Reporting

  • Lead the team in delivering accurate and timely monthly financial close activities
  • Oversee all RTR accounting and reporting tasks, including preparation/review of journal entries, schedules, surveys, and month-end processing
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and internal controls 

Balance Sheet & Compliance

  • Review balance sheet reconciliations and proactively follow up on aged items
  • Prepare analysis for review and discussion with senior stakeholders
  • Support interim and annual audits by preparing schedules and addressing external auditor queries
  • Facilitate internal audit reviews and respond to audit requests promptly

Process & Documentation

  • Maintain and regularly update standard operating procedures and process documents
  • Ensure documentation reflects current operational requirements and best practices

Continuous Improvement & Transformation

  • Support and participate in system enhancements, project testing, and automation initiatives
  • Drive continuous improvement of RTR processes and workflows through standardization and technology adoption
  • Contribute to process design and transformation workstreams related to financial operations

Team Management & Operational Leadership

  • Coordinate workloads, processes, and priorities within the RTR team
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and technical support to team members on RTR matters
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for daily operational issues, resolving matters promptly
  • Ensure appropriate cross-training and knowledge sharing within the team
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned

 

Skills for Success:

  • Degree in Accountancy or equivalent professional accounting qualification
  • At least 6 years of relevant experience with strong technical accounting knowledge
  • Proven experience managing teams and driving change in dynamic environments
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and negotiation skills
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with SAP is an advantage
  • Meticulous, detail-oriented, and able to multitask and work under tight deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated problem-solving ability
  • Able to operate effectively in ambiguous and rapidly evolving environments
