The Finance Manager - Opex Planning partners closely with business, commercial, and finance stakeholders to manage budgeting, forecasting, month-end reporting, and operational planning activities. The role oversees Opex reporting, financial analysis, planning coordination, and process improvements while ensuring accurate financial information is delivered to support effective business and operational decision-making. 

 

Make an Impact by 

  • Lead monthly financial close activities including Opex accounting, journal reviews, management reporting, consolidation, and cost analysis while ensuring compliance with internal controls and policies
  • Drive annual and quarterly planning, forecasting, and financial analysis by consolidating risks, identifying mitigation opportunities, and supporting ad hoc business analysis
  • Support Opex transformation initiatives through process improvements, system enhancements, master data maintenance, and budget transfer coordination
  • Manage audit and compliance activities including interim and year-end audit support, audit schedule preparation, and timely resolution of auditor queries
  • Oversee team coordination, operational workload management, and escalation handling while providing guidance and support on Opex-related matters
  • Promote continuous improvement and operational resilience by driving automation initiatives, maintaining process documentation, and ensuring knowledge sharing and cross-training within the team

 

Skills for Success

  • Degree in Business, Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline, or a recognized professional accounting qualification
  • Minimum 6 years of Opex working experience.
  • Strong experience in Opex management, financial planning, and budgeting within complex corporate environments, including team leadership responsibilities
  • Proven capability in stakeholder management, change management, and influencing cross-functional teams in dynamic and fast-changing business environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial systems such as SAP, with exposure to planning tools like TM1, BPC, or Tagetik being advantageous
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a track record of driving process improvements and transformation initiatives
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines while demonstrating adaptability, attention to detail, and effective communication across all stakeholder levels

 

Good to Have

  • Exposure to large corporate or matrixed business environments
  • Experience with financial planning platforms such as BPC or Tagetik 
  • Experience supporting finance operations within telecommunications, technology, or shared services environments
